I remember finishing this game on the PS2, which was REALLY hard, because I had no memory card, meaning I had to finish the entire game in one day (my parents where not pleased) Then I finally finished the game and I got a whole load of depressing endings because I had to cut corners and I was just depressed for the rest of the day.

Recap Mutants are killed by a genocidal virus, and considering what it becomes in the comics, humans are as well. Krang usurps Namor and nukes the surface. Senator goes Adolf Hitler on the mutants. Mistique beats the crap out of Xavier to the point of murdering him. Affecting them so much that even the dead NIGHTCRAWLER says goodbye. Two Asgardian legends die. Odin is killed by Surtur and Thor becomes a grieving king. The Shiar refuse alliance with Earth. What happened to the Skrull in the comics happens in the game. Odin only knows whether or not Thanos is in posession of the Infinity Stones. The Devil does what you would expect from the devil. Basically, you fucked up.

While everyone is wondering what Nightcrawler is doing at Xavier's funerals (which is a fairly good question), I'm more confused as to why the death of Professor X causes the X-men to disband. I mean, the death of the founder shouldn't destroy what he created, especially since I doubt he would want that. He would definitely want his school to survive and be run by a worthy successor (probably someone he chose for after his death). So what the hell, X-men? Your decision makes even less sense than Nightcrawler coming back from the dead.

All is well, however all mutants are forced into concentration camps, have their leader die, then die off completely, a nuclear war between sea and land happens, a giant meteor destroys the western hemisphere, odin is dead and cannot help earth fight off thanos, who somehow attains the infinity gauntlet (Rip universe), thanos then allows mephisto to try and control our dimension, while a giant war between the kree and skrull goes on. while all this is going on thanos is getting rejected by death.

Back when I first played this game on ps2, I got the thanos takes over ending by mistake. I remember seeing him sit there and he literally had the gauntlet and everything and I somehow completely forgot about him until he showed up in the MCU. MUA really exposed me to a lot of the things being used in the movies. This was even before the MCU even started, it’s crazy how huge these characters have become, I’m glad this game helped shape my love for Marvel even to this day

A lot of depressing shot is happening in the real world right now. Ebola is spreading throughout the world, measels is spreading throughout the United states and Canada, NATO might go to war with ISIS, the russian-Ukraine conflict is still going on, the michael brown shooting/ferguson riots, racial tensions will eventually lead to race war and radical feminism is becoming a bigger influence than it ever has

I remember playing this on my PS2 in 2009, I had the bad Mephisto ending and I was so terrified by that image that I never played this game again, and it was burned into my brain for 6 years and I couldn't stop thinking about it, but now that I've watched this video I've conquered my fear of it and I feel like I can play this game again :)

"Basing it around 1 villain" MUA1 was based around Doctor Doom with it's own unique story. "A game like MUA2" I'm saying that MUA2 should've been a sequel with Galactus as the main villain. And there were no hints AT ALL to Galactus coming to earth prior to the events of MUA2.

Thanos didn't take over shit in Infinity War. He did the snap, then pissed off to Titan and immediately used the Stones to destroy the Stones. All he cared about was his dumb pointless quest to kill half the universe, which by the way only delayed the scarcity problem he spoke about, it didn't actually solve anything. They did Thanos dirty in those movies.

I wish that a future/the next MUA game comes back to this timeline, the true OG timeline, because this was the story (the first two games) that many of the series' fans including myself grew up and made a connection with. All of these futures shown here were basically teasers of all the possible story arcs that the series was going to explore going forward, and let's not forget the one surrounding Galactus' intentions to attack Earth that was never continued.

It kind of is continued, but easy to miss. In the XBOX/PS4 version of MUA2, Thor talks about defeating Galactus if you talk to him during one of the times in the Stark Tower Hub. I do agree with you though. I'd love to see this story come back.

I love how they put a picture of the mutants on their potential grave. "Hey wolverine, strike your best pose, we need it for your grave."

In one comic, nightcrawler teleported out of heaven.

In Mephisto's realm, it doesn't matter what you do. if you save Jean Grey, Mystique blames and kills Professor X causing the X-Men disband and if you save Nightcrawler, Jean will return as the Dark Phoenix and kill those who didn't save her. That mission is a lose-lose situation anyway.

Although Uatu said she would take revenge on the people who didn't save her as *Dark Phoenix* that's good, because that's where the Dark Phoenix story arc comes and then all is well.

so.. hold on... nightcrawler couldn't teleport OUT of the cage when it was falling or even while it was still suspended? has mephisto cast some sort of magical spell on it or something? seriously! also the cages in mephisto's realm (a.k.a hell) have wide enough gaps between the bars for jean OR nightcrawler to squeeze directly out of! so... how did nightcrawler mourn at xavier's grave you may ask? plotholes my friend, plotholes...

Yeah probably, but considering how easy it is to defeat mephisto (no matter how 'fierce and menacing' he is portrayed in comics and animations) Human Torch could probably do better at binding the Hulk and Juggernaut in a hellish fire dimension against their will (albeit that they are both so big as to not be able to fit through the bars that jean and nightcrawler were held in).

Mutants die off. Meh Atlantis has nuclear war with surface world. Meh West coast hit by meteor. Meh Sif di- NOOOOOO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Someone once said, nothing to encourage replay like telling the players they are idiots for not doing the side quests.

Whoa! I think I did all of those missions right and avoided these bad endings. I had no clue. This is super interesting. I really do wish MUA2 had this. That game only had a decision that effected who you got to play as in the middle of the game. Edit: I'd love to see 3 consequences like this.

I hate that they didn't use this theme for the sequel. They could have Branch things out perfectly, with all that information that used. And then, is the ones that you succeeded with, and made that into a story as well. Kind of like if they had Telltale Games telling the story

If you make the choices, the X-Men not only lose Nightcrawler and Professor X, but they're also met with the threat of extinction from a genocidal senator's reformatory schools and a deadly virus threatening the existence of mutants. The X-Men really got fucked in the ass in this game.

They should make a sequel to this timeline have it be like Mk9 where the main character sends visions of the future to his or her past self in order to prevent the horrible future

I just like how The Watcher every time be like: "But THE MOST UNFORTUNAT THING WAS..."

I fucking loved this game as a kid.

This is why I started doing side missions in future games.

Hate they veered away from this after another company got them. Imagine how the second or third ultimate alliance would’ve been with galactus as the boss, Jean grey coming back or preventing the x men from disbanding as said by the watcher. They could’ve been onto something

HOLY SHIT,Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 NEEDS Thanos to be the main villain...maybe thry could have two story arcs like they did with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 because that had Secret War and Civil War...So in 3 they should put Thanos and Age of Ultron,THAT WOULD BE BADASS

It is regrettable that you've brought Brie Larson to Marvel Cinematic Universe. Half of the fun has ceased to exist and Thanos disapproves her existence in the Endgame.

i almost had a heart attack when he said the tale is not complete , i thought that side missions were those disc sim , but at least i did some side missions , so i got the good ending

I remember I did everything right except saving Lilandra because i couldn't figure out how and just moved on ahead.

The mephisto ending gave me bad dreams !!

With these "bad" endings, multiple sequels couldve been made for the series. I would love to experience how the team fights against Mephisto, or the fall to Thanos

Goddamn, I had no idea how fucked up things could get without doing the side missions.

WinterSplinterM.II the side quests are optional, but we were pretty heavy handed in pointing them out to you to do.

The mephisto ending gave me nightmares

Judging by how Thanos's blast have been described as quasi-mythical in nature, it's safe to say that he also has a good grasp of science and magic as well that rivals Dr. Doom. Considering that Reed Richards comments on how he can barely understand the simplest of Galactus's technology and Silver Surfer gliding through Thanos's ship was astonished and said"Amazing. The technologies involved at operateing on this level would tax even Galactus's scientific abilities, yet Thanos roams here freely."

Wait a second she's angry at Xavier because she's blames him for her son's death the same son she abandoned what kind of sense does that make

God these outcomes traumatised me as a kid so much since I only did a few side quests.

My first playthrough I couldn’t find the sword or the omega base computer. I was a distraught young lad. This is when I learned: Do ALL the quests

Thank goodness none of these villans have an issue with sharing the world at the same time

So in what order do the events on Asgard and on the mutants occur? Xavier dies, X-men disband, Virus outbreak, Mutant concentration camps? why would you even need the last one if all mutants were wiped out by the virus? Or how could Odin save the planet from Thanos anyway if he was already dead?
