Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter [PS1] - Norimaro in the US version

This is a play-through using Norimaro in the PS1 USA version of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. Read on below for more information...
Norimaro is an inaccessible character in the International versions of the game. This means that he is an unplayable character in those versions, namely this one.
===== Additional Information =====
---- If you complete the game with Norimaro, you get an actual ending for him, in English text. It appears that the decision to omit him from the International version of the game may have come after the translators did the endings.
---- Surprisingly, Cyber-Akuma as the 2nd character actually has an Support strike and Team Duo super, despite not normally being available as a partner character.
---- Notice how when Cyber-Akuma is selected as the 2nd character, there is only one lifebar for Norimaro during the fight.
---- The Japanese version of the game is known as Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter: EX Edition.
===== About Norimaro =====
His design is based on a Japanese comedy TV show host named Noritake Kinashi. In true comedic fashion and to match the atmosphere of this game, Capcom certainly made sure to exaggerate the characteristics of this person.
Gameplay-wise, he can actually combo very well and has some good moves which can definitely annoy the opponent. A bit of a "joke" character, but one that is capable of challenging the other characters when played in the right way.
I believe the reason he was removed from the Western versions of the game was due to copyright/licensing issues regarding Noritake Kinashi. I've also read somewhere before that another reason was because Marvel did not want to see their characters getting defeated by Norimaro... and then there's also the story of Norimaro's controversial throw in a prototype screenshot of the game which Marvel highly disapproved of. This throw was of course, removed from the final version.
===== About PS1 MSH vs. Street Fighter =====
As with X-Men vs. Street Fighter, due to the RAM limitations of the PS1 hardware, huge cuts needed to be made in porting the arcade game to the console... and the main cut is the fact that you cannot switch characters during a fight. Therefore it operates more like a traditional one-on-one fighter, consisting of separate rounds. Tag elements such as the Support strike, Counter and the Team Super Combo are still possible though.
Additionally, for MSH vs SF, Capcom has included a mode called Cross Over which actually allows character tag-team switching - with the drawback being that 1P and 2P side's characters will always mirror each other. So for example, if Player 1 chooses Ryu and Spiderman, Player 2 will also have Spiderman and Ryu. By doing this it makes the tag-team switching possible because technically only 2 characters are stored in the PS1's RAM.
Other drawbacks include many animation sprite frame cuts, making some moves look a bit choppy and jerky. If you're used to the Arcade or Saturn versions and have a keen eye for sprites (like myself), you'll definitely notice the cuts.
New features of this version includes the ability to cancel Special Moves into Super Combos, and Super Combos into another Super Combo.

Nice in The Saturn Version He Was Automatically On The Roster And That Was The Best Version For This Game.
I didn't know they left his sprites in the American PS1 version, interesting. On the Euro version I have, there is a piece of art on the manual's back cover featuring most of the characters in the game, and Norimaro is still on it, they didn't edit him out.

@@cortezmartinez8659 yes he's based of a japanese humorist. Normally he's only playable in the Japanese version.
They shouldn't have cut him but at least he's still in the games files to cheat your way to use him

I think there's a GameShark codes for PS1 that you can play as Norimaro in US version of this game, so that you can use him normally as seen in this video.

Yep, you can use Game Shark or Action Replay with the code 160F3852 0022 to select Norimaro in the US version since he is still in the code of the game.

I do not think he is since he is also able to select Cyber Akuma, which is unplayable entirely without the use of mods, so I would not be surprised if they also modded Norimaro into the game as well

He was intended for the US version but was made unselectable, apparently because people outside of Japan wouldn't get the joke. At least that's what I heard.

Yep, but dispite that, the gameplay is really fluid compared to the crappy port of X-Men vs. Street Fighter on the PS1.

There's the unused english translations for his end battle text and Apocalypse text, but nothing like that was ever done.
This is the equivalent of having a chibi cartoonish version of Jim Carrey as a playable character

It's weird t see this as the American version I had played didn't have the guy with glasses an his little bag just the characters you see at the start of the game only hidden characters you could play later was cyber akuma or apocalypse, an mech zangif .

What Capcom wanted on the roster: • The best X-Men duo (Wolverine and Cyclops) • The best Avengers duo (Captain America and Hulk) • Best Marvel Super Hero (Spider-Man) • One X-Men villain (Omega Red) • One Avengers villain (Shuma-Gorath) • One of Spidey's most overpowered enemies (Blackheart) No female characters there.
