I love how the announcer sounds when he announces the name of the supers. Like a sports commentator after witnessing a home run in baseball or a goal in soccer. He just sounds really hyped and excited.

Sadly the names of hyper combo finishing moves are not anymore said by the announcer on the later games. This is why Marvel Vs Street Fighter have a place in my heart. Very proud to scream all this hyper combo finishing moves during the day when I'm still playing it on arcade cabinets.

The Super Street Fighter IV announcer seems to stick with "ULTRA COMBO FINISH!" If Ike uses Great Aether.... Super name appears, we hear "HYPER COMBO FINISH!"

I love how the announcer also pronounce the Japanese finishers. So dope!

Dan’s best Supers are when he just does something silly, like doing a long taunt or signing an autograph, something that brings out Dan’s personality. Every time I see that it makes putting him into any Capcom fighting game worthwhile. I love it

See in the 90s Capcom and SNK were making fighting games and one in particular Art of Fighting was released and Capcom basically said “Wait a minute they look like Street Fighter ok if they are going to rip-off our characters we can do the same of them!” So Dan Hibiki was created in response to SNK’s ripoffs of Capcom characters. Specifically Ryo Sakazuki and Robert Garcia from AoF. And all of this is THE reason as to why Dan’s attacks and strength are pathetic, it’s all on purpose and next to Sean he’s the weakest of the Shotos

These games have my favorite version of Shinryuken. The massive amount of flame and the pillar of light sell how powerful the move really is!

The sound "tsu" (つ) in Japanese can be typed on a computer by simply entering "tu" and converting it. So they just reverse-converted つ to "tu". If you're interested, Google "Japanese Romanization Systems".

Sega Saturn is probably the best way to play. You get Norimaru and can unlock Cyber Akuma

My first Capcom experience as a kid and I gotta say, its way better than I remember it. Spent an obscene amount of time at the arcades because of this game and also FUCK Apocalypse. Stole my money so many times

They do look alike. I'm a big OPM fan, too. ... but yeah that's Blackheart from Marvel Comics. He's been around since the late 80s, but not used much. His best story is a graphic novel where he fights Ghost Rider, Punisher, and Wolverine. (Hearts of Darkness) He's also the villain in the Nic Cage Ghost Rider movie (pre-MCU), but barely resembles the comic.

I had a Saturn instead of a PS1. These imports were about all I had at the end. 2D games got tossed aside too quickly.

This has always been a hard game to find. The PS1 version is shit, so don’t bother. The only legit, current way is to buy the Arcade1Up cabinet that has this game bundled. The only other legit way is to buy the Japanese Saturn version. Keep in mind, this also requires having a region unlock cartridge and the 4mb RAM cartridge. I have no idea how much all those cost now, but I’d assume “not cheap”. You do get to play as Norimaro in this one. Emulation may be the only sensible route for most people.
