@@nickenglehart6469 Except fan stories are never canon... and Watcher didnt write the stories, he just watches them and protects them from outside interference. Its like owning a comic book-collection. And whos to say 'what if' cant be canon? we are in the multiverse saga now, any one of these can be canon since theres endless number of universes... they just dont have to affect the main timeline movies in any way. Their timeline hopping began, occurred, and now ended... Ultron after all didnt destroy many universes yet, he only destroyed everyone in his own universe before starting the hunt for Watcher. (as we see the heroes return to their universes its clear that Ultron didnt destroy many if any at all yet)

That double shield action was everything. And when Kilmonger used the stones he powered up like a Super Saiyan, another nod to Michael's love of anime. And also how fitting for him to get used by Watcher the way he used everyone in his universe. I'm so happy that Peggy got her happy ending. "Not you, Stark." At least he's alive on this one, although he's probably fine in Star-Lord T'challa and Party Thor's world and so many universes offscreen I feel like Season 2 would lean more on the consequences of The Watcher messing some with the universes.

@@lsandjs9793 They said the production for this was longer than Loki's so its kind of the reason for the weird situation of stones working in different multiverses.

Lego has had a Sakarran Iron Man set out since September 1. It comes with 3 minifigures, Tony Stark, Valkyrie and the Watcher. I think this due to the necessary lead time to create the set and produce them, then the episode getting moved to season 2. Whoops!

From what I recall, Word of God has said that there was meant to be this episode but COVID messed with the schedule so it got pushed to next season

"What an existence [Strange] has." It reminds me of what Scott Derrickson said about him "alone and lonely character" -- everybody went back to their lives, Natasha was given another chance in another universe, but Strange was tasked to become an honorary Watcher lol gonna miss Strange Supreme.

Strange nullifying/limiting the power of the infinity stones by absorbing that galaxy-level explosion was awesome and was the only thing giving them a fighting chance. Strange probably will start losing control of that power he absorbed in time and the pocket universe could crack open so they could bring back Killmonger with the infinity stones.

Gamora was the 10 episode they couldn't finish because of Covid. They moved it to Season 2. I believe the episode is What If Tony Stark became the Champion of Sakar

Yeah the company who had the Gamora episode got overwhelmed by all the work. So the company that did the dr strange, Killmonger and finale helped out with episode 7 by doing more than half of it (since there was a lot of crowd work) and they decided to delay Gamora to season 2. Fun fact, we animated that finale in 6 weeks or so. Can’t believe we managed that 🤣

@@kjj26k not many. Most is 3D animation made to look like a 2D drawing/comic. All the magical and special effects effects were drawn by the 2D artists. There were a good few of them but not as many 3D artists!

People seem to miss this episode shows us how powerful strange supreme really is. He’s as powerful , if not more than the watcher, and as powerful as infinity ultron. He may be a good guy now, but who knows for how long. I feel we will see him again.

4:16 originally this series was going to have 10 chapters, the ninth was going to be that of gamora and Tony stark, in the end they ended up eliminating that chapter and only 9 were left (originally the battle against Ultron was going to be the tenth chapter

A great way to finish the season. Choreography on animation has less limitations but even then the fights on this show were always so cool and creative. They were able to use the character's powers so well

This is one of those rare season finales that completely enhances what had come before it - gives every previous episode that bit extra meaning. I will admit this was the show so far I had the least interest in, and was mostly watching for completionism at the start. As it was going I was thinking "yeah, fun", or "really admire what they're doing with it", but the way it tied up I'm now 100% into "loved it". Really wanting to see Captain Carter especially (with an alt Widow if possible) show up somewhere in live action in the multiverse fun that we're about to get. At this point I'd be more surprised if Marvel ever actually do drop a full on dud, their consistency is incredible.

Analog and magic saved the Multiverse. Doctor Strange Supreme was the mvp. And the Watcher knew Peggy was going to reunite with Steve so he encouraged her to go to her proper time. What he did for Natasha was so wholesome. I adored this episode.

God, I hope Strange Supreme shows up in Multiverse of Madness.

The writer of What If...? said that Ultron was able to use the stones in different universes because he was breaking through the multiverse, instead of traveling between universes, essentially making them one universe. Every time he arrives in a new universe you see the shattering effect of him breaking through.

@@duke759 Yeah, but in all honesty that ending never made sense. The watcher acted as if that was the first time he had ever seen that Ultron. But if Ultron knew about the different universes, then it had to have been after the Watcher had already seen and battled him. So the Watcher should have already knew about Ultron and had been hiding from him while building his team. Not casually watching party Thor like nothing was wrong. So that ending, while a great cliff hanger, doesn't line up with what we saw in episode 8.

Watcher sees Ultron for first time and is like wtf (ep7) >> Watcher sees Ultron win which makes him aware of multiverse (ep8) >> Ultron starts looking for Watcher and travels/dominates universes at one point going to the end of ep7 >> Watcher starts recruiting (ep8/9). The watcher’s story is linear but everything happens non-linearly around him cause him and Ultron can jump to whatever point.

The sad thing is that Natasha was returned to a different universe and her best friend is still dead. It's like the universes can only have one or the other.

I love how everyone has always complained about how they make Thor really funny and he should be more dark like a Zack Snyder film, and now Marvel is just doubling down and making him even more funnier. I love it lol. Ive always thought Thor to be a goofy character. Shuri's actress in live action is Letitia Wright who did not voice her in What If, also Lake Bell voiced Black Widow waaay before Scarlett Johansson sued Disney so Scarlett didn't voice her in this by her own choice.

The way I see the Infinity Crusher not working on different stones but those Stones working on other realities is that if we assume that there’s a 1% difference between the Ultron stones and the Gamora stones then his stones will be 1% less effective in her universe, though that would still be 99% of near infinite power, but if you leave 1% of the stones intact then you haven’t destroyed the stones

Uatu is only earths Watcher in the comics, there are other Watchers but I think the MCU is making it like he’s the lone Watcher, last of his kind which is cool because it makes his love of the multiverse more understandable and it means more. This really delivered and it’s only going to get better as it goes on

I actually got teary-eyed at the end and not just because of the end credits..More of a happy teary-eyed.Each episode in the series so far has been pretty epic in my opinion...I don't have a favorite..but the episode to make me laugh the most was definitely the party one...The most grim saddest one to me was the Doctor Strange one, Sad to see the season is over .I was looking forward to the series every week... Looks like they brought back the celestial rule when It applied to crushing the infinity stones..Who else was crossing there fingers when black widow Showed up in a different universe ,would be killer to see her back in the MCU sacred time line universe just to see everyones reaction

She was sent to the one where hank pyme killed the avengers and only captain America and captain marvel were left to fight Loki and his asgardian army

The sad part is that Strange Supreme said that there wasn't any other intelligent life left in that universe, and then it turned out to be the zombie planet. Which means that Scott Lang's Head and the others from the zombie episode didn't survive :(

Fun fact, Strange, after absorbing the powers and abilities of all the creatures became so strong that even the Infinity Stones couldn't figure out a way to outright kill him. Throughout the fight Ultron had used the stones to force his will though their power. It's shown when they light up in a certain pattern, indicating the need of a stones power in conjunction to another to enforce what he wanted to happen. Ultron admitting that Strange was the reason of their survival, and saying that, "If you die, they all go" He simply wished for Stranges death. We then get a power struggle showing the stones flickering through countless combinations to try and eradicate Strange. It's just amazing

In the comics, all comics from marvel is quite literally shown looking through the watchers eyes, our watchers name, is Uatu. As he says, he watches. And those above the watchers- galactus (only when fully fed) Odin and the all fathers are generally weaker, celestials are equally as powerful as the watchers, and every abstract is stronger than him.

I really REALLY want Captain Carter in the MCU. Because you wouldn't need to un-Captain America Falcon to have both. Different shield, different suits, one flies one doesn't... They'd be a great team and she'd mesh well with Bucky too.

@@graystark240 Multiverse of Madness? That could bring in some of these characters.. at least in part.. I totally expect Strange Supreme having some part seeing as.. he has not much else to do so why wouldn't he possibly use maybe two time stones to try and fix his own universe?

Doctro strange now has the most dangerous snowglobe in the multiverse

The spell armor is also much like the armor/spells in the Eternals movie

With captain Carter finding the Hydra Stomper i’m really worried the first ep in S2 will be “What if… Steve was the winter soldier”

Captain Carter and Strange was putting in work. I can honestly say they Carter is a wayyy better captain than Steve was. She is so ruthless and ain’t afraid to do what it needs to be done. Steve is just to much of a good guy. They say the watcher told Tony nah bro I don’t need you. Because he know he would die again in this show since it’s common now lol

Keep the content coming guys! loving it lately. Eric, love the ME trilogy playthrough so far!

Strange Supreme: deputy watcher

I'm for sure gonna miss What If until season 2. It's so much fun!!

I never realised until now, the reasons that scarlet witch Softened after attacking ultron, Was because he had visions face

When I watched the ending the first time, I had NO IDEA that was the Universe from Episode 3! It's SO COOL how they tied literally ALLL Episodes together!

I'm wondering how strong is this doctor strange supreme? I think he was able to compete with 5 Stones+ Ultron which means when he got tired watching the pocket universe, what could happen this strange with all Stones inside him? We talking about the strongest creature in the all multiverse

The Tony stark and gamora episode got pushed to season 2 cause of covid, Eric managed to guess the plot right with Tony going in the worm hole in avengers 1 and ending up on sakaar

I think the stones don’t work inside the TVA because of the runes in the time keepers room blocking their power, not that the infinity stones aren’t usable in other universes.

I think it’s because the TVA exists OUTSIDE of time and space/reality so the stones have no power if time/space/reality does not exist in the area they’re in.

The stones are nerfed in the MCU, so I don’t know the full extent of their power, but in the comics the space gem/stone allows its user to teleport anywhere in the omniverse. So yes, the stones do 100% work in different universes.

It was also interesting that the Soul Stone was used, since it I don't think it was just a powerful energy source (like the Tesseract/Space Stone), I think it was literally an *animation* source to imbue life into a machine like the Crusher.

I liked how they showed the aftermatch of the watcher choosing Killmonger since he didn't come back

With this last episode for the season, I noticed a few things. From the previous episodes and comments I’ve made, and now said by the Watcher at the end, he truly does care and have an attachment to these characters, stories, and universes. So much so that he broke his oath to protect all of them. Secone, I’ve seen people joke and question “Why did Watcher choose Killmonger? He’s a bad guy!” But in context after the ep, it makes sense. Without him being there, who would stop Zolo from betraying our Guardians? The Watcher saw the betrayal coming(mentioned by Strange), so he used that to help end the fight by locking it in a struggle. Lastly, and on a personal note, when Peggy and Nat find the Hydra Stomper in the crate, and the “There’s someone inside”, i love the piano Cap riff that’s played. I know the Gamora episode got pushed to S.2 because of Covid(And we know Tony doesn’t die in that one this time lol), but I can’t wait to see what else this series has in store!

I find it kinda ironic that the only universe we don't see Tony die is the one that gets pushed back and thus we don't get to have funny jokes of us viewers being like "oh hey finally a non-dead tony!"

In the comics, there was an entire _race_ of Watchers. As for "people" higher, there are plenty-- Galactus (capable to taking on any single Watcher); The Living Tribunal (who judges worlds/galaxies/the universe by mystic parameters); Lord Chaos & Master Order (embodiments of Concepts); Death (a Concept embodiment); Eternity (the sum intelligence of the Universe).

Episode 8: Ultron tanks a punch strong enough to send him into the core of a planet Episode 9: Ultron says "oof" and gets knocked around by someone throwing a shield

Watching what if ep 9 reactions again, remembered why EVERYBODY wants strange supreme in multiverse of madness, most op strange yet

I think Ego needed to convince Peter the first time because he had saved the universe (killed the mighty Ronan with his infinity stone and all) and Ego didn't know how strong he was, he was also becoming a celebrity, he had friends and team mates who had his back (I bet even the people on that planet he saved would have helped rescue him) so he preferred to approach him peacefully first. He lured him to his planet where he figured out how strong he really was and then, when the time was right, he subjugated him... Here, Peter was a nobody, looked weak, with no one to save him so he went straight to the subjugating part.

Per an interview with Head Writer AC Bradley, there were originally supposed to be 10 eps this season. Unfortunately, COVID pushed back the Tony/Gamora episode into season 2. (which is already in production) The saddest part of this finale is the fact that it was Chadwick's last episode.

The Gamora episode was one that couldn't get finished in time due to Covid complications, so it is pushed to Season 2. It's a little times wimey, but I think it works out anyway.

You guys need to watch season 2 episode with stark and then go back to 15:50 of this episode and let Eric see it haha

Wow. That first Q&A question is so similar to mine. I had "What If Ronan won the dance off to save the universe?"

I was worried that Ultron would come back and say "you know each universe has their own infinity stones, right?" and just have like thousands of sets of stones. but like, where could the story possibly go from there?

The Infinity Grinder was so powerful, it got a hair off of my screen. Seriously. It was there before the white flash and gone after.

They chose the Soul stone because Gamorra specifically asked for it. It powered the Infinity Crusher.

The writer said the only reason stones worked outside of their original universe is because they were powering the ultron of their specific universe, but if that was the case, why did the stones work on Warmonger if he was from a different universe?

Only Marvel can do a What If series from different universes and end the season in a two-parter that unites all of those episodes together.

A real good season finale with a lot of good action sequences.

I want to see a lot of Captain Carter since I love the character and that she is a muscular woman. Doctor Strange is great.
