How do you feel about Spider Man 2?

The story was too safe and too rushed compared to the first game. The gameplay mechanics are improved except for the gadgets wheel (probably personal preference but I prefer the first game's gadgets since they had more variety). Peter was also weaker compared to his 2018 self and needed Miles's help most of the time which was probably to give Miles the spotlight and show how strong the symbiote suit makes Peter. The new main suit for Miles is a horrifying Adidas ad and i don't know who agreed to this in a studio with like 50 people. Overall this game lacks simple features from both previous games like the base replay, missions replay, time changing, and etc.

I personally gave it a 6,5-7 after my second playthrough. Part of me want me to rate it even lower and the symbiote story is certainly one of the worst I've seen personally. They took one step forward and 2 steps back in most areas. I was personally expecting the Arkham city or Knight of Spiderman games but we didn't. I don't even feel like going back. I completed the first game more than 5 times. Beyond the pretty graphics this another cookie cutter game trying to hard to be a movie ripping the controller from my hands to show me a pretty cutscenes.

I’m really disliking Insomniacs take on Spider-Man. Combat is repetitive and feels like a chore. Webswing has been done better in previous games. Then they do they’re own version of WOS

The first game I liked but I dont feel this one progressed

Would have been cool if a couple of those symbiote missions you had to fight major ones that came out like riot, toxin or different variant of scream

to be fair, spider man 2 didn't need to push bounds, the first game already did that, its alot like how the Arkham games would come, out the next installment had the same mechanics as the first game but it would improve and flesh out these mechanics.

@@Brayzon yes, the swinging was improved and added more, the combat was added onto as well and became harder, stealth got some updates as well. and the maps size became larger and loaded faster.

@@thenonfictionalexplainer952 The map larger I agree but taking out gadgets designed for stealth doesnt seem like a step forward IMO. Agree to disagree I guess

carnage dlc got actually leaked for spiderman 2 including with 2 other dlc´s

Really? Didnt see that leak! Either way the Flame was definitely a setup for carnage obviously

I was looking for a jump similar to the one we saw from Arkham Asylum to city to knight and that I did not get. The MJ missions even with their improvements still suck and having her take on hunters is certainly stupid no matter how you cut it even their justification doesn't cut it. It's a waste of time. Improve the combat and stealth further instead of doubling down on things that weren't received well. Stealth is worse and AI has barely improved and when a game from 2011 still has better stealth you have a problem. Traversal has improved but the web wings are complete completely braindead go into a wind tunnel and put the controller. It plays itself. The story doesn't hold a candle to first game's story. This game's story is a mishmash of plot lines we've gone through in other games or we've seen in TV shows. The parry in this game kind of sucks honestly (I have no issue with it but I got good at it halfway through). Honestly they failed to separate the red suit from the black/symbiote suit aside from the tendril attacks (which are interchangeable with the arms), surge and maybe 2 finishers theres no difference and because of that the combat was gimmicky Jedi survivor actually improved it's traversal, combat and puzzles (buggy aside) as a sequel should unlike Spiderman 2. Aside from traversal this game is lacking in many areas the combat and stealth though improved was still stripped back. No new game plus, mission replay or enemy bases. This game is a damn slog to get through the second time around because of MJ segments and stuff like the Coney Island section, BVA and EMF puzzles Saying this game played it safe is an understatement. but I've gone on enough and I'm certain comment is all over the place.

All fair criticisms, but lets not forget that the previous 2 games were patched up and the 1st game got dlc content. Spider-Man 2 still has updates coming and I'm sure the game will be much better by the time we get the full package. Don't get me wrong, I DO believe we should've already gotten a full package for our money, but I make concessions for the current gaming market. Unfortunately, most AAA games come out unfinished these days.

Yeah I dont need DLC makes up for a base product being finished but I do agree we will get updates

Big time! There was nothing that made me feel I needed to finish it. When I played the first one and Miles Morales, they were addictive. I could stop abruptly playing Spider Man 2 without hesitation! It was just a bunch of swarm battles! So many I got pissed cause it was swarm after swarm! No strong storyline!
