I don't think Hasbro trademarks the names anymore at least not on certain characters. The fact that it doesn't say TM beside their name is a dead giveaway. If that's what they got to do, I love that instead of some random crappy name. Actually as I'm typing this, I realize that they use International packaging only now in every country, maybe this is a cheaper work around than getting trademarks for every country?

I really like some of the offerings that Hasbro has given us lately, but I've gotta say the original Dr. Strange figure from Toy Biz is, well... supreme in this case. Great comparison, Glenn.

Toy biz all the way...After i saw a pic of toysbiz's i groaned and when i got it in hand i was blown away how cool it really is....Hasbro's head sculpt is terrible i feel.

I kind of like both. But there are some stuff I love/hate about them.. I like the modern's stache and size. Kind of wish it had shading. The old one just seems squatty. But I love the unique sculpt, sucks its gobbled up by his cloak. Plus they both have great synergy. You could use the cloak on the modern one, use the spells on the classic one, etc.

The Toy Biz version is tiny!! A lot of the Toy Biz Marvel Legends fit in quite well, but for some reason Doctor Strange is just a half inch too short to pose with current Hasbro Marvel Legends. Really hoping for a classic version from Hasbro, they have all the parts with the Black suited figure and the Benedict Cumberbatch movie version.

I like the modern costume more, it's just lacking a cape. The cape is an iconic feature of the character. If the new one had a cape, no handlebar mustache, it'd be perfect to me. I like how the new one comes with "hex effects" (I just wish they glowed or had some glitter or something to make it more "magical").

Is Sorcerer Supreme equivalent to an honorary doctorate? (I'd presumed that Strange brought his own degree to the position, but all concur that Brother Voodoo became Doctor Voodoo upon achieving the position). With the Ph.D, Is sorcerer supreme eligible to teach at accredited four-year American universities? Does Aggamotto advertise that as a job perk (in lieu of salary)?

As funky as the biker mustache is, I do like it! In a recent comic, Strange shacks up with a 20-something grad-student, and the biker mustache carries that "old man trying to be young again" vibe. >:-D But, seriously, I do like the more subdued costume, as it fits his "New Avengers" renegade status ala Civil War. But, of course, a sorcerer supreme ought to look the part of a showman, so the flashy "classic" wizard costume would do well to return eventually.

I'm surprised they didn't reuse the Spiderman web shooting hands. They should use Dr Strange's torso for other figures, this one actually looks it's wearing cloths unlike Bucky Cap mold.

Would have liked to see how the Hasbro one looks with the Toy Biz's cape. I actually have both figures myself but I don't feel like digging the Toy Biz Strange out of the box it's in lol.

I love that updated costume, except for the stache. Dr Strange is a great hero for cameo's, but its hard to imagine him holding up his own movie.

I think having the Toy Biz cape worn by the Hasbro figure might make it look even better.

i guess they both have there good and bad sides but as for something on display i think the toy biz looks nicer, i would like to see a marvel select though, maybe after the movie comes out

Toy Biz....TOY BIZ!!! I find the legs make the Hasbro one look like a body builder. Toy Biz face wins, TOy Biz sculpt, Toy Biz......paint....Toy Biz....articulation is slightly better.

Hell if you can't decide, then I don't know anymore either. *then proceeds to jump out window* Joking aside, giving your in-depth look into each figure I'd say it's probably a tie. Hasbro for the hex effects and articulation (and the actual effort they put in to it) and Toybiz for paint, sculpt and cloak

I like the original since it has lots of good detail, but I wish they could have done a little bit better with the paint job. But other then that I love the original dr strange from toybiz

Both a good figures. I think the marvel select one will be better

For me, the best of both worlds is putting the toybiz cape on the ML Dr. Strange.

Well nevermind, as it seems Hasbro is making the same Doctor Strange figure from before, just with a cape. .... I think everyone who bought the first one, got trolled a little. Oh well, we wanted that Hulkbuster piece anyway.

Hasbro has a more character accurate head sculpt. Meanwhile, Toybiz is dawning a more classic look to the character.I think I'll go with Hasbro! None the less, toybiz is a great figure.

Chatbox 3000 Toy Biz was a division of Marvel and sold the licence to make marvel action figures to hasbro. Toy Biz then changed it's name to Marvel Toys but no longer actually able to make Marvel-based figures gradually faded away

Chatbox 3000 Toy Biz was awesome. They made some of the best wrestling figures.

I like the toy biz dr. strange.

The Hasbro costume is his Defenders costume, if I'm not mistaken.

Was ToyBiz a privately owned company? I wonder if some of Hasbro's cost-cutting woes come inevitably from having to skim the 5% - 15% off the top for shareholder profit / growth forecasts / et cetera.

This one is a draw. The newer figure has slight advantages in articulation plus it's beefier the older has advantages in sculpt and paint. I have the original and its enough right now. I would buy this one if he is marked down.

For me Hasbro is the better figure. The toy biz one just looks ugly with out the cape, and that face is ugly. Just my opinion here.
