It's either their ideals outgrew their purpose and they essentially sidelined themselves, thinking that humans didn't need them, or they wiped their own memories of who/what they are in order to escape from the inevitable suffering that immortality brings

I like how the MCU creates stories loosely based on the comics. So far, they've done an awesome job representing comics onto film (especially thanos 👏). Now, I'm curious to see the Multiverse and Mutants in the future.

@@GB-jo9ky true, I often suffer this problem myself, I get specific storylines mixed up all the time, or say stuff like Guardians of the Galaxy when I mean guardians of the Universe when talking to friends or fellow comic fans, with so much things happening and so much comics it's hard to keep it all straight. Doesn't help when comics themselves contradict each other or get retcons.

I love how I can learn so much about a character and his or hers origin in a 23 min video

That is true, but I think this way of measuring power isn't static: People with cosmic powers are as powerful as their understanding and enlightenment, they are somewhat abstract and can thus suddenly grow in power, as they realize fundamental truths and concepts.

Zuras is the creator and dies early, we never see Kronos, Thanos is not part of the crew and Sersi is a better energy manipulator, not necesseraly more powerful. Ikaris is basically the Thor of the Eternals.

I actually think the Eternals would be great for retconning the comic book lore every 5 years and why Peter Parker never seems to age , and why even though certain things go on like Dr Doom or the Beyonder show up . It really doesn't change the direction of the Celestials agends . However if the Villains start winning all the time the Celestials might show up to rewrite history so that the heroes win.

[Friendly note: TL;DR at bottom.] Hi Austin (and possibly Rob, if when he asked that question he did mean to ask about the Celestials and not the Eternals!), that's actually not correct. A small number of Celestials actually s**t a (cosmic) brick (keeping with the Eternals theme, I'll let you decide whether it was one Uni-mind-style s**t-brick or multiple independent ones) and ran to the furthest edges of the Multiverse to hide out. The Celestials that were destroyed by the Beyonders were seemingly not revived when the Multiverse was restored, and these few Celestials were all that remained. They actually ended up being confronted by Logos (the entity created from the fusion of Lord Chaos, Master Order and the In-Betweener), who annihilated them all - or so Logos thought. In reality, the Queen of Nevers (abstract entity that is the embodiment of all possibility) saved the ol' Big-Daddy Celestial (BDC), One Above All (not to be confused with the actual Big-Cheese variety, TOAA) and then (seemingly thanks to the Queen of Nevers) BDC blew his cosmic-load and literally birthed the new wave of Celestials, The Fifth Host. You can check all this out in Ultimates 2 Vol 2 #4. [TL;DR] Incorrect. Some Celestials survived Time Runs Out event. Others weren't brought back during the Multiverse revival. See above for details.

It's sorta one of those things that is, as far as I know, never referenced in anything outside of the exact comic it published in so if you haven't read that one specific comic then you'd never know. And even if you have read it, the fact it is never brought up again makes it very easy to forget! I just have a knack for remembering the little things like that whilst major details can escape me haha.

Gilgamesh is the strongest only in physical strength, by feats and from what we are told in the comics, Zuras and Sersi are the most powerful Eternals on Earth.

They should make Rob a conspiracy theorist in the MCU films. Where everything he says sounds like it is coming from a crazy person but it actually ends up being true LOL
