Have you seen the Rush in Rio dvd? The crowd does a pretty good job on the vocals.
Every human in this studio killed it, but Felix Lehrmann (the drummer) killed it, buried it, exhumed it and hanged it again like it was Oliver Cromwell.

Mr. Miller, I'm a retired session player with Atlantic Records, you SIR are a rare gift in music and I've played with Rush in the late 70's... AWESOME
2:53 Martin’s solo lives rent free in my head, and it’s incredible that he can so confidently in front of Paul Gilbert! Literally the perfect solo.
God, i can't believe it the way you play this Rush title. Such a difficult ,hard and complete band to cover. You're absolutaly smashing guys. Guitars, and the mad killer drummer! Much respect! We love it! I love it!

I had mixed feelings. I love this drummer; not as much as I love NP, of course. Hearing him add his own flavors was like someone having you try a new ingredient in a recipe: it might be bacon bits in brownies, but each to his own tastes.

Paul Gilbert's solo was insane. Incredible musicians all around.
4 years late to the game, but have to say this was one of the besy YYZ covers ever.
I made it to the 5 second mark on my phone before stopping playback and declaring to myself "To the studio monitors!!"

When I listen to Rush I can hear were bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Meshugga and hundreds of others bands got their inspiration from. Rush truly were one for the ages!!

It's funny, because when I listen to Rush, I can hear Zep, Yes, Deep Purple, and others. They were probably tighter than any of those, but still, I can hear where they came from.
Whenever I hear a different version of YYZ, I’m always struck by how great of a song it is. I’ve heard the Rush version so many times now that I just take it for granted. So good!
That was one of the tastiest solos I’ve ever heard. Honored the spirit of Rush quite well
RUSH has been my favorite band for many years. This cover is fantastic, the guitar solo is beautiful and Felix is an amazing drummer.
I came for the title, but stayed for the sheer artistry and professionalism.

This was really not at all like the original, and that's what I really liked about it. I love RUSH and the original YYZ, but I can hear that anytime. This was a fun, tight, inspired reimagining of the song, and Paul Gilbert was having a blast!

I super agree! However the same sentiment was not felt by the pink Floyd fans haha. The Martin Miller band is my favourite band and they’re not even a band lol!
Smiles on the faces of Martin and Felix at the end was priceless, having accomplished something in a space that few musicians seek to occupy.
Martin millers licks are so melodically awesome...
Paul Gilbert is just so humble that he enjoys wherever he is and whatever he plays. Just an amazing guy! Great job Martin!

@@ElrondHubbard_1 a lot of folks can't understand that covers aren't really supposed to be 100% exact. You should see how upset some get when the people who WROTE THEIR SONG deviate from the original.
These musicians are off the chart I am literally blown Away and I'm burning my guitar 😪
I've seen rush live and this is without a doubt incredible and pays absolute respect to music in general. Innovative and incredible. I'm a huge fan of your band.

Love "cover tunes" that are Not note-for-note, where the players can add their personalities in with respect to the originals.

barely got those bass harmonics in there....nice :) The drummer was so ecstatic to get all the way through...quite an accomplishment.

WOW, from the solo, to sliding guitar , to drum fills that work so smoothly and that work tightly, to the ending , WOW guys I am a Rush fan and you all did this in your style and nailed it nicely. Bravo
Doing a Rush cover is a no win situation because the songs are so epic, well known and with the Rush loyalists fans that expect every not to be the same always, adding a personnal touch to it might even be consider as blashemy. I command you by having the guts of taking the song to different places. Very well done, indeed!
