According to Lichess analysis, Martin made ONLY ONE INACCURACY, no mistakes or blunders, between moves 5 and 31, and was 86% accurate overall.

And that’s why I don’t use Lichess.
We need some Martin lore, maybe he's actually a grand master who retired, and takes it easy on people to let them learn chess, but he still pulls out the stops every now and again to put people in their place
Sometime Martin plays pretty solid, then it's quite tough to fight him since you'll easily make blunders
@JamieEmmons

yes but he also makes the most random inaccurate moves ever like some random move move with is probably an inaccuracy not a best move or excellent most of the time
I was playing against Martin yesterday to teach my wife how to play and he randomly turned into Stockfish and beat me. I am a 1300. I had never lost to him before that and I embarrassed myself in front of my wife by losing to a 250 bot that usually hangs all of his pieces. I was actually salty as fuck about it. I think Martin glitches sometimes and randomly turns into Stockfish. If it didn't happen to me I never would have believed this was real but it is.

I play Martin a lot just to relax and he does occasionally make really good moves, it's just that his blunders will easily wipe them out. I think you and this person just got unlucky that he happened to make a bunch of good moves in a row.

I think you are right , as a 1400 rated player I should never lose against this 250 rated bot . But somehow a few days ago I also was outplayed

I heard that Nelson essentially has the same programming as Stockfish, but there's randomness involved. If luck is on your side, he's going to play an inaccurate move or a blunder. If you're not lucky, well.. you get embarrassed in front of your wife, because he still knows the best move lol I'm not sure if it's true, but given how things are often designed in the easiest, sloppiest way possible, I buy it.
Crazy. If there were no link with the game, I wouldn't believe it's really Martin

Same. I've seen him beat players around the same strength usually because his opponents troll him, but this is the first time I've seen him actually outplay a 1700.

Martin is actually a super gm that defeated both Kasparov and Fischer 4 times in a row Once he retired he just holds back so the game is fun for his kid
As I understand it, Martin is still Komodo just programmed to make a lot of blunders.
The problem with making a randomizer for Martin's AI to make random blunders and inaccuracies is that if the randomizer doesn't trigger, he will play the best move. This means that there's an extremely small chance he will play like a grandmaster. Although a real 250 elo will probably never play the best move because humans aren't randomizers deciding how well of a move to make
I audibly screamed with delight when this video popped up in my feed. Martin is the GOAT.
Actually its the Martin's A.I, they way its programmed. For first dew moves its actually really just 250, but the moment a.i detects mate coming, its starts its own mating attack. This is actually good if you ask me, if you notice, compared to other low level bots, this one is actually enjoyable.
I tested because I thought this was just unbelievable. Martin is still bad. It almost immediately blundered its queen and then proceeded to let me fork whatever I wanted, remove defenders from attacked pieces for no reason, and ultimately let me make 3 queens without taking my rooks.

The game is from mid 2022 I believe, I honestly don't know how it happened but it could be a bug, or chesscom doing an experiment on Martin, or someone logging into his account somehow 👀

I knew Martin was something else. I played Elani (400) and Aron (700) and they were all easier to beat than Martin, they would always leave their queens hanging and make blunders, but Martin actually did that rarely.
Chess rule no 100 if there is en passant on the board then play it
We all know this is the 1 in 50 chance of when martin actually tries and just dominates 1700

Martin but he becomes an IM on move 5 lol
thing is, martin CAN see the best moves. He is just programmed to randomly choose weaker moves. Every time you kick his ass thinking you're all smug, he actually saw 100 ways to fold you like an omelette but chooses not to.
Martin plays well at the opening, so if you keep on making a new game with the next move Martin keeps thinking it's the first move and plays well. It's like he just gets really stressed if you play too long with him 😅
I love martin and I love this song. Perfect video.
Get this game to Gotham chess pls
i think martin let his Pet fish play
Martin had a bad day and decided that beating kids wouldn't do it today
I think they tuned his code to be better at opening, but there's a real chance the logical fuckup somewhere in the code that skipps trigger "Opening is over, time to make Martin dumb", which, well, would result in this.
I know somebody that can beat antonio but cant beat martin. The world is a big place.
if given an infinite amount of time any thing that can happen will happen.
Good thing you said that Martin used only 10% of his brain
wow i didn't even know anyone had reached the rating of 1700! what an achievement for humanity
I actually think they've either improves Martin secretly or made it so he learns from games, saw another video saying the scholars mate no longer works against him.
Why resign? He could win the end game, its martin
Why did Martin's opponent resign. He can sacrifice a bunch of material to stave off mate and then try to recover.

Day 2 of asking Are doing Nelson vs you with only Queen Day 1 of asking to beat martin with only Knights🥺🥺
I tried to challenge martin, but it shows that its an actual player (because you can choose if you challenge it with rating or not). Is this really the case?
Im not sure if that computer icon next to Martins country of origin pops up in the recording, but that should not be there in the actual game, implying it could be fake. I checked the review and it does not have the computer bot, implying he is just playing someone with the martin icon and a 250 rated elo who is very good. This scenario is quite probable, and sadly Martin is not this good.
@ChessEnjoyer
Жыл бұрын
The game review never has the icon, or even martin's image, and his name always changes as well to "Martin-Bot". Not to mention that the link obviously says it's a computer game not a live chess one. His name also links to martin's real profile so it's not fake, unless someone hacked his profile
That means marten used 0.01% power of his brain if he can use 100%... mittens will cry
I got mate in 4 moves by martin once
90% of people who play en passant do so because it sounds fancy lol
I don't think that is a winning position with Martin's... _skill_ at endgames

Exactly, and there's also always a chance they were experimenting with turning him into an adaptive bot back then, so he should've started to play a bit worse after getting a big advantage.

Sometimes Martin is crazy good and other times (like this game I just played vs him) he sucks. It went E4,C6,D4,F6,E5,G5,Qh5#
I have beaten many high rated bots but i once got destroyed by Martin whats up with him xD
Nelson not Martin.
this is the worst 1700... (from my eyes as a 1900)

Who the hek taught Martin to play like this?
I only lost to martin once bcos I trapped my king with my own rook in the corner. Oops

When he was 6-year old, my son beat Martin easily and I don't think he's the next Carlsen.
This must have been patched. I beat every bot up to the last one 1600 because I dont dare to play online. And martin is easily the easiest of them all. Try one of these mfs: wendy(holy s# I started to see red), joel and isabel (have not personaly beaten yet). These seem to strike well above their ratings consistently
Nah dude just sucks at chess
My theory is that martin is the account that he made for his 4 year old and one day he decided to show them him how to really play
