It's always awkward when you have a disembodied voice off-screen, where you don't to actually see the person, so you just have to imagine, and it kind of "breaks the 4th wall". (Also, it seems like Martha may have enjoyed a glass of wine or two before filming this segment!😂)

Martha hey I watched you many yrs. I wrote many recipes as I watched. I lost a really good one of your Halloween pumpkin seeds . I believe it was Martha Stewart Living 1999.🍂🍁 Plz I beg you repost it. You did popcorn Carmel balls with m& ms during that same era. Plz post that era. I WANT CANDY!!!

I love Halloween and have hosted lots of parties for kids and their parents. I like the brown paper lunch bag idea, because otherwise my family and kids would take everything without restraint. I'd also say it's important to have non-chocolate treats. I'm a chocoholic, but some kids aren't. Gum, bubblegum, jellybellies wrapped in small-size bags, even little packets of raisins (I know--but some kids like them!) are good, also. Another decorating tip--for the tops of cabinets, etc. is to make rat silhouettes (just cut out rat shapes on stiff black cardstock and prop up) and backlight with colored lights. They can look real! Spider webs with spiders are also great decor. And black construction paper bats pinned to a high white (or light) wall! yeah! have fun!

regarding marthas baked i believe she had a bells palsy stroke that why her lips is slanted if you look close and slur and slow speech . she does live a fast paced life and after all she had to go thru as well it happens. we always thinks stoned as perhaps oneself might know these symptoms of being high stoned drunk but in the medical field as i am in and had patients who had same stroke these are the symptoms of bell palsy or a TIA

Damn, there was this channel that uploaded her older videos and they were full length, forgot the name of the channel. I guess it got taken down. Whyyy? I was in the mood for her older Halloween/fall videos.. :’(

regarding Martha never let her kids go out halloweening. a lot of ppl didnt after the razor blade in the apple thingy. i always had the kids over to stay over night to watch spook movies ad had a pinata with gertrude hawks candies a nice candy and games adn the whole experience at home with kids staying over movies candy games and dress up was the most fun as my kids are now grown adults they loved the happy day parties for halloween and it was safe so it can be ok if they dont go out to ppl door to door and hope they get descent candy and b e safe. she makes things fun

Old post but I am replying anyway just in case anyone sees it. Most if those stories were hoaxes. The one TRUE story was a father that poisoned his own kids and he ended up on death row. Let your kids trick or treat. Don't live in fear. Just be smart, go with them, go through their bucket of goodies because if course it's better to be safe than sorry. But there's no need to live in fear of what were hoaxes.

Considering that this video is longer than five minutes, it really needed a much more professional look. Just seems like a flunky is filming Martha on the fly, or she grabbed a neighbor and said "Film this". If you're going to set up all that fun macabre paraphernalia and ghastly gourmet goodies, then at least record this with quality and style-- instead of a "Blair Witch Project" flavor. 😄 🎃💀
