Marshall Canyon has something for everybody, whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider looking for some fast downhills through the bottom layer forest.
The terrain in Marshall Canyon is great for it's NorCal feel. All around, the hills are hot and dry, but at Marshall the trees keep it shaded and the creek crossings help to keep things cooler.

My XC bike is going to love this trail
Cool that you have this for the dudes like me looking for fun and interesting but not trying to die.
I just watched this again. I grew up in La Verne/San Dimas. I cut my teeth riding Marshall Canyon/Claremont Loop 3 X a week for years. I thought that was the epitome of MTB until I saw videos of the OC trails. I thought, "I could never ride those "black diamond" trails". A couple years ago after watching Outsider MTB I started riding OC trails on my old hardtail. Now at 50 yrs old I'm doing what I could only dream of when I was 35 (on a full sus trail bike).

Just rode Marshall Canyon for the first time today (4/2/2021). Boy has it changed since your video. The switchbacks have been bulldozed, and the Golf Course looks like it's been closed for the past 2 years! Kinda a post-apocalyptic. Anyway, I was still able to use some of the info from your video, so that was really helpful! We ended up getting a wild hair and going all the way up to Potato Mountain. First ride for me in 4 weeks since going OTB at Santiago Oaks last month. Love the channel! Hope to see you out there sometime! - Dan

Glad you got out there, Dan!
Actually their are several ways to gain access to Marshall Canyon and you missed the main entrance off of Orange St. Had you made a right turn behind the school and crossed the bridge heading east you could’ve accessed the entrance off of Orange St. And you were right, it’s La Verne, Ca. 91750… As a La Verne resident I’ve ridden up in Marshall for 20 years. 2000 to 2010 was 4 to 6 times a week and now that I’m 65 I’m doing the ride 3 to 4 times a week. It never gets old and you can easily spend 2 hours up there exploring different trails…
Faster than me! Cool vid!

Hello Outsider! I was wondering if you would consider making an updated version of this trail guide. My cousin and I watched your video over and over before heading out but we still had to pull out our phones and rewatch on the trail 😅 since some features had changed. We used your Fullerton loop trail and it was amazing. Would Marshall canyon also get a detailed guided video? Anyways just wanted to thank you for your taking the time to make mtb’ing possible for us first timers and beginners!

Sup. So now they have different jumps at the jump section. They have some advanced ones that can send you about 6 feet in the air. If you’re ever in La Verne check it out. There’s about 8 jumps in total.

It would be helpful if you could just time lapse the parts that you cut here. I've done this trail 3 or 4 times and I sometimes get lost by accident, so I was hoping to see all the turns, but you cut a few :(.. at least you kept the quick right after seabiscuit's gravesite, lol.. that helps!

Yes you can! It connects to the loop at what's known as the "yellow gate" which is close to the loop Gazebo. You can go through the gate and down to where he started his first true downhill called Sidewinder that leads to the picnic bench. Or you can stay on the loop past the gazebo and there's another trail system that connects to the top of the Z backs (where he climbed again after the Picnic Bench) which will lead to the single track
