Per Mars Hydro: For the SP 3000 and SP 6500 lights, the previous version is with IR and UV chips. Since March, we have moved the IR and UV from the SP 3000, SP 6500, and FC 6500 lights. Also, the new FC-E6500 light doesn't have IR and UV chips. The reason is that these lights' main customers are personal growers who pursue the best results or the commercial project customers; they prefer to independently control the IR and UV lights time, don't need the IR and UV chips on the light itself. Mars Hydro also will issue independent IR and UV lights in the second half of the year.

Like the new LED lights being sold now. But are they all being made with the correct light spectrum for growing plants. I still have a 400 Watt Halogen with a single bulb. Then I supplemented that with a couple spot light plant bulbs, from a box store, in dome fixtures. I was surprised that you had those curly fluorescent, and incandescent, bulbs, instead of the spot light plant bulbs in your greenhouse. Happy growing !

Totally Robert. I've been experimenting with so many bulbs now it's ridiculous. It's why I took the plunge with a serious grow unit. These LED lights cover the full spectrum for both vegetative growth and flowering growth. Hopefully with a couple of indoor crops I can show that!

If you get the SP6500 be sure you have a high ceiling. Over 2000 par at 24 inches. Which is way too much light. I got the SP3000 and it was actually to much light for the 2×4. I put it in the 3×5.

Hey Mike. I like that the TS series has the reflective hoods, definitely better than not having them. The SP does have the new Samsung chips so its supposed to be more efficient and effective... But is it 40%?? Hard to say. The TS2000 in a grow tent performs awesome... There's no doubt. Go with the cheaper one unless you can justify the cost as a tax deduction or for a business.

I dont mind spending more if its worth it but IDK, now i am torn. this sp3000 seemed like a higher quality light and i know from 3d printing that meanwell power suppliess are a big upgraded over the no name, and ofc samsung vs no-name as well. i thought the fact i could move the driver out of the tent would be a nice feature too. how much does the reflective hood matter in a good reflective tent though? i just getting back into growing indoors, used to do it like 10 years ago. i know more light is always better though so i didnt want to cheap out on a light :)
