Hey, we saw you filming this from our balcony when you were at the village pool! I had watched some of your videos before we came to Grand Vista so I was wondering if it might be you. Sort of like I had spotted a celebrity- haha! We had an amazing one week stay and loved absolutely everything! I’ll keep watching your other videos to help us decide where to go next!

LOL, too funny. I can assure you I am not a celebrity, though someone recognised me at a timeshare presentation today. I get recognized every now and then around resorts, but it isn't all that common. Grande Vista is great, glad to hear you had a great stay. Thanks for watching!

Another outstanding video. We have had so many great memories staying at Grande Vista. It's so hard to believe how fast time goes by. I tear up every time I see the sauna with great memories of my daughter getting out of the pool and dragging me into the sauna over and over again. She also loved playing with those water canyons at the Copa Loca pool. I encourage everyone to put Grande Vista on your bucket list. Thank you for the video.

Just finished up a 5 night stay in a one bedroom in building 98. I believe it is next in line for an update. Had a wonderful time. Always love staying at Grande Vista.

Enjoyed the video. Would suggest mentioning the buildings surrounding each area so one knows what they might ask for if possible. You mentioned building 97 and nothing more which would have been helpful. Also would be good to show the set up for a 1 bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3 bedroom if you are doing this. Those questions popped up watching this and are unanswered.

This is a beautiful, but very chill, relaxed resort. I used to be a bellman there, and it was brutally slow even during the “busier” times. Whenever you visit these resorts, try to keep in mind the bellman and servers live off of tips. The turnover rate is ridiculously high because the wages are just not enough. Great video though!

I would think a timeshare resort property isn't the best place for a bellman job. A few issues; most timeshare owners are used to doing stuff themselves. Another is that there isn't a single point of entry like you have at other hotels or resorts. Multiple buildings spread out where each building has its own set of luggage carts kind of makes the bellman job at these properties obsolete. I suspect the only time one needs bellman would be if they specifically ask when checking in. Thanks for watching!

@@DestinationTimeshare Exactly, the housekeepers also take way too much time hogging up the elevators, making the wait times a lot worse as well. Correct, a lot of people will just walk to their building as well. But MVW also needs to acknowledge that their resorts are like this and adjust the wages higher accordingly. They’ve lost a lot of good people because they expect the best service but our paychecks did not reflect our efforts, although I did meet some generous people there as well.

Also, for reference, Westgate pays their bellman $15 and the tips are a lot better, and the extra pay helps a ton in the slow times or extra duties when you don’t have a chance to make tips.

I am not 100% sure. I know that some resorts have an area called "The Den", but I have honestly never seen it at this resort. Looking at the resort map, I don't see any kids club area mentioned. I know they do a number of activities throughout the resort, but I don't know if they have a kids/deen space like I have seen at some other resorts. You may want to call the resort directly to find out. There is also a chance that they have a space, but it is still closed due to the pandemic. Thanks for watching!

How would you compare Marriott Grande Vista and Hilton Parc Soliel for a couple in their 60s looking for a quiet and relaxing week with some golf.

Grande Vista has its own golf course with practice facilities. So it may be better for golf. Both resorts are very busy, but Grande Vista seems to have many more common areas with plenty of places to walk and sit. Lots of entertainment options at Grande Vista also. Parc Soleil is a smaller resort with only one pool area. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

They’ll probably both be crowded this time of the year. Vistana resort is more spread out with seven pools. So it may be the better choice.

Is that VIP check in for mvc/interval owners? We go end of October(Halloween week), my parents traded in our home unit at Harbour Lake to let me try out this location. Will be going with guest certificate, not sure if that makes a difference. We land at 8pm on a saturday, I wonder if it'll be busy at regular checkin desks. Dumb questions, sorry, do owner privileges transfer when we trade unit to other resorts? At harbour lake we get minigolf for free (even when i went with a guest certificate last year), and I THINK some other activities as well. But this will be my first staying at another MVC property. Not even sure if I'm allowed to call to request a certain building if we don't technically own at grande vista. (Wanted to add that your videos on this resort are the reason we decided to try out a different place this year!)

Hello, thanks for watching. I am not 100% sure how the VIP desk works, but you will be invited to checkin there. I am not sure what their selection criteria is for having people check in at the "VIP" desk. VIP is in quotes because I have heard a lot of complaints anbout it. It is really just a big push to sign up for an owner update. Many people would prefer to checkin at the regular checkin desk. As for privileges that would transfer. I am not aware of any paid amenities like the mini golf at Harbour Lake. You will receive an owner discount card when you check with the concierge, or perhaps at VIP check in. You will probably be eligible for spa discounts. You can certainly call and place villa requests. We have done this, but we own there too. You should also receive a pre-arrival email asking for your preferences. Hope this helps and happy to see that my videos have inspired you to try out some other resorts. Grande Vista is fantastic!

Are the 2 bedroom Vilas actually a 1 bedroom with a studio room attached?

For the most part, yes. There are however some dedicated 2BR units that don't lock off. These have two queen beds in the guest bedroom.

I am coming from the UK in September for a week. It’s a long time since I’ve stayed at MGV in the last few years I’ve been staying at Westgate lakes or Westgate town. I think last time I stayed here was 2006 or 2007 I chose Westgate over grand vista because pre pandemic they had free shuttles to the parks but not any more I would like to know How far is the walk from the trolley stop on I drive to the resort. Apple maps say 13 minutes but is there a short cut for walkers ? I don’t drive sadly

There is no shortcut unfortunately. The resort is set back in quite a ways from International Drive. However, the resort does have a shuttle that will take you around the property and I beleive they make runs to the front entrance. You may want to call the resort directly or ask them when you checkin.

If you want a villa with a jetted tub, you will want to make sure they don't place you in a renovated villa. They are removing the jetted tubs in favor of replacing them with large walk in showers. SECRET the VIP check in has soda in the mini fridge. They are free 😉

I hear a lot of complaints about the VIP checkin at Grande Vista. Many people complain about the hard push to sign up for a timeshare sales presentation. Some actually try to arrive at the resort when the VIP checkin is closed.

You do not need to be an owner. You can rent with cash on Marriott.com or from other owners on sites like Redweek.com. As long as you are not staying on a promotional packages from Marriott Vacation Club, then you do not need to go to a timeshare presentation. They will probably invite you to attend, which you can decline. If you do attend, you are also not required to purchase anything. Though they can be high pressure when you go to a presentation, which again is not required.

Yes, I remember those days. Several other resorts used to have Pizza Hut Express, though they are all gone.
