My grandmother was married at the age of 18 to my grandfather who was 14 years older than her. They were married for nearly 64 years.

I don't remember the exact verse but there are verses in the Bible that talk about men and women getting remarried after the loss of a spouse. I'm sorry for your loss. Trust in God. He has a plan for everything!

Jesus So question people who get married multiple times ( civil) are not married ?

My ex wife was a Christian woman. She went to church on Sundays, tithed, grew up in the church, knew the Bible very well and would pray before every meal and before going to bed every night. The reason she is my ex wife is because I discovered that she was having an affair with her atheist boss who had a Christian wife of his own, who he had a family with. When I began noticing the signs of it, I started asking questions and trying to figure out what was going on. She would tell me things like "the devil would love nothing more than to destroy a Christian marriage." The day before I caught her she swore in the name of Almighty God that nothing was going on, and I was being paranoid. Then the following morning while she was scatter brained early, I went over to her computer and found the proof that I was correct. Filed for divorce and I want nothing to do with women, too many of them are vile in this day and age, both in and out of the church.

The rules God gave concerning divorce were very radical for that time period. He gave instructions on how to divorce properly, even though this wasn’t the original plan for marriage, but there are times when divorce is necessary, and that completely ends the marriage like a death to God, so the faithful may remarry again. God doesn’t want anyone to be in a relationship that is dangerous for you, and historically the church has done a terrible job of helping abuse victims, so they stay in the marriages much longer than is safe

Jesus also said if you become remarried you mustn’t covet stones or ANY gold coins , which is insane to think about considering how god was involved in creating these gold coins that I love so much.

Marriage is too risky why can’t we all be celibate?

Everyone is called to that until they get married (find their vocation.) Even when ur married you practice chasity. Its just a matter of what God is calling u to do. Be married, be a priest, or have a consecrated life. All have their challenges and beauty. Neither is a walk in the park.

​@@mattcaruso2520 your spouse should not cause you harm. That is not the relationship Christ has with the church which is our model for marriage. If they're failing their vows to love and take care of one another in sickness and in health for richer or poorer then it's not a marriage. It's a legal status/formality. Hopefully both will come back to the table and make adjustments to restore their vows, but if that's not happening the marriage in its real sense is over.
