Marrakech is not the first destination coming to our mind when it comes to fashion!
And yet, the flamboyant Red city has long been a source of inspiration for fashion designers. More than an inspiration, some of them have been so seduced by its picturesque explosion of colors and unique effervescence of the souks: Paloma Picasso, Pierre Balmain and Yves Saint Laurent, that they decide to acquire a home in the heart of this legendary Pearl of South.
In 2019, the Ochre city has been chosen by Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri to present Dior's Cruise 2020 collection in the sumptuous iconic El Badi palace, and paid homage to the African craftsmanship and Morrocan exceptional heritage with a collection of 113 silhouettes. The legendary fashion house Louis Vuitton unveiled its fourth high jewelry collection designed by Creative Director Francesca Amfitheatrof and entitled "Spirit" in the magnificent palace El Bacha in Marrakech.
Marrakech Fashion Week celebrating its third edition and inspired by the official Fashion Weeks of New York, London, Milan and Paris, has been created in 2022 in a vision to highlight its local fashion designers, to offer visibility to its talents and to encourage emerging creativity in the fashion scene.
