never mind the two last minute tries, the fact mal kicked 2 in a row is the bigger miracle
During this period, as a Queenslander, you knew the NSW team had more talent. They were absolute machines and full of HOF'ers. This try is easily the most memorable of my life and seeing it live was nothing short of mind blowing as a kid. NSW ended up winning the series (as they should have), but this did a lot to keep our heads up during a tough period in the 90s for QLD.
Thanks for putting these vids up.makes my day.
I'm a Queensland supporter but what a foward pack the blues had chief , Siro , Roberts , Lazarus

I'm a QLDer too but I think NSW has always fielded bigger boys, ay haha. Edit: Living in London right now but missing the footy back home too. But stay safe all.

@MUFC the more feminine the average man gets, the more popular soccer gets.
A player who was every bit as impressive and determined as Tallis and Webcke was Andrew Gee; he deserves to be remembered, for all the right reasons.
I’ll never forget when Mark Coyne scored that try my dad got so excited he nearly throw me through the ceiling 😂

I love this game. Its forever young and ageless
Watching these old games league used to be so much more exciting. When did they stop have backline moves, both centres on one side and such? Nowadays every team plays with the exact same structure. Halfback on one side, five eight on the other, every team runs the exact same second man plays etc.

I hear you mate. I played inside centre of the 5/ 8thg in rep in 1983. Long back line and short right side. Good times.
What a gun Daley was
Darren Fritz was hanging for a dart after that last try.
Sironen bumps off Meninga what a beast
what a classic... that f**king try!!!
Is this commentary redubbed? They mention America and stuff. Sterling made a cheeky comment about how he knew who was gonna win when that dude played the ball back the front.
Man Willie Carne was a unit
Coyne. What a try
1:34 I didn’t know Samsung existed in 94
This is what state of origin footy is all about
These 90’s games are the only rugby league I watch anymore. The modern game just isn’t the same and holds little interest for me these days.

Yeah we stop The game for 10 mins for someone to go Off with a HIA look at the replay 60 times with 13 camera angles and then sin bin the player for a shoulder charge the games a mess now
God how many Broncos in this Origin !
I remember This night👈🏾👏🏾💖
Great commentary
How can you defend against such terrifying players.
This game was the only thing I liked about origin that year with the mark Coyne try and the look on the NSW players faces it was just a pity that QLD couldn't send Mal off a winner six later the second time I'd been to a live origin game.

That was an epic try
2 former and 2 current origin coaches playing here
yeah that's as good as it gets great game
30 years on.
Times have changed...This was just before pacific islanders came into rugby league and started dominating it.

We definitely need the talent pool that they provide though. It's good for the game the more countries that are involved.
Between 1990 to 2005, NSW won 10 series, Qld 4. The heyday of Blues. Qld won two draws, a draw is not a win.
Can you upload game 2 1994 at the mcg?
Jeez the skill level and athleticism is so much better nowadays. I can only imagine how devastating an Inglis or Taumalolo would be if they played in the 90s

Gary Paskvić Cameron Smith is a good example of a modern day natural footy player on the park, not the normal pumped up hyper fit modern day professional athletes, but yes there were a lot more players of this mould in that era of footy

That Guy these guys are much bigger than you'd think, every forward would be well over 100kegs except benny elias. And mal was faster and heavier than inglis so we know how inglis would do, not as well as Mal. And rick stuart would destroy a game today with the 40/20 rule, the amount of 30/10's i saw this guy kick was incalculable, he belts it 20 yards further than anyone today

I was about 10 or 11 it was one of my first memories this try. But what you dont realise what I know now that team with daly stuart brad fitler that error coming thru they were actually changing the game. Then andrew johns came along and took it further. These guys catapulted the nrl to what we have today the nsw pack was freaky good that nsw team were like the new beginning of professional rugby league.

Totally disagree. The skill level is evident in all these players playing here in this game.

What if you gave them 90's fitness levels and nutrition? What if you gave Alfie, Ricky etc modern training methods and nutrition? You can't compare

great QLD try. Fortunately a superior NSW side won the last 2 games of the series.

I see why, everybody was surprised they won this game. Great game tho
Langer can’t even pass the ball to his left properly. Stuart was a way better half back.
It is. Pretty funny.
Great defence force nsw

can you please put up game 3 1992
NSW won game 2 14-0 and game 3 27/-12 for the threepeat ruining mals farewell. The try meant nothing but a highlight now for qld fans to cream over for years .

Threepeat is the best NSW fans can cream about, whilst getting 8 in a row dunked all over them.

@@eddielasowsky7777 big deal you beat a nsw team who had about 7 different useless halves and gidley as a captain. If they played a decent nsw team back in the 90s would have been more even.
