never mind the two last minute tries, the fact mal kicked 2 in a row is the bigger miracle

During this period, as a Queenslander, you knew the NSW team had more talent. They were absolute machines and full of HOF'ers. This try is easily the most memorable of my life and seeing it live was nothing short of mind blowing as a kid. NSW ended up winning the series (as they should have), but this did a lot to keep our heads up during a tough period in the 90s for QLD.

Watching these old games league used to be so much more exciting. When did they stop have backline moves, both centres on one side and such? Nowadays every team plays with the exact same structure. Halfback on one side, five eight on the other, every team runs the exact same second man plays etc.

This game was the only thing I liked about origin that year with the mark Coyne try and the look on the NSW players faces it was just a pity that QLD couldn't send Mal off a winner six later the second time I'd been to a live origin game.

Gary Paskvić Cameron Smith is a good example of a modern day natural footy player on the park, not the normal pumped up hyper fit modern day professional athletes, but yes there were a lot more players of this mould in that era of footy

That Guy these guys are much bigger than you'd think, every forward would be well over 100kegs except benny elias. And mal was faster and heavier than inglis so we know how inglis would do, not as well as Mal. And rick stuart would destroy a game today with the 40/20 rule, the amount of 30/10's i saw this guy kick was incalculable, he belts it 20 yards further than anyone today

I was about 10 or 11 it was one of my first memories this try. But what you dont realise what I know now that team with daly stuart brad fitler that error coming thru they were actually changing the game. Then andrew johns came along and took it further. These guys catapulted the nrl to what we have today the nsw pack was freaky good that nsw team were like the new beginning of professional rugby league.
