I love Johnny writing style (despite how much he likes to go on and on about nothing.)

I appreciate your dedication to providing us an audio book form of this book. I dont think i could get through all the notes with sub notes without your videos

holy cow does the author wax poetic in this part with such verbosity that it drives one to absolute frustration.

It‘s the entire thing. It‘s so annoying honestly. I mean A lot of ppl like to defend it by being like: „he‘s meant to be annoying“ or „it‘s him going insane slowly“ but i doubt the author did care about the meta narrative so much. I think he was just trying to flex on readers pretending how he‘s so clever by making the text oh so dense with this useless bs but to me it feels like filler. I mean the whole note thing seems like filler with little substance. So much of it really just seems to be a way for the author to fill up the visual parts of the book with random text. Like his formatting ideas came before actual readable content. But it kinda ruins it for me as well cause it feels lazy. Like he was too lazy to actually fill up the formatting art project with enough good writing to warrant ppl reading the text instead of just looking at the formatting of it. It feels like you have to dig through mountains of meaningless bs just to get to the interesting parts. Like trimming the fat but the fat is like 70% of the whole experience. If there‘s one thing the book could do better it‘d be adding better writing to the parts that were obviously just cluttered with bs talk he thought up to make it all longer. I just don‘t buy the Johnny character and his cringy stories that are boring as all hell. And neither do i buy the word vomit of pretend phylosophy. If the author wanted to symbolize schizophrenia slowly growing in someone‘s mind, he‘d probably make connections to the house story in his personal life that get more and more outlandish. Not going off on tangents that are utterly meaningless window dressing. It is so obvious to me that the author was stretching the text to make up for the formatting parts of the book and I genuinely think it‘s a massive flaw of this work. You just don‘t half a*s a book like this by adding so much substanceless filler. Its not fair to the reader at all. Like filling up half the book with the word „idiot“ over and over again for 100‘s of pages and insisting the reader read it all for an authentic experience. It‘s not authentic at all imo. It‘s just someone trying to make his work seem oh so revolutionary and unique without actually putting all the work in to make it actually a good experience.

Agreed. First time read for me and I can already identify the pretentious b.s this happens to be.

I think it’s a problem with the book being turned into an audiobook

Thanks for the hard work of reading this book I know there are a lot of places that don't have the audible version for obvious reasons but it's still much appreciated 👍🏾

There's so much here in this chapter that's completely useless.
