I totally understand that it’s nearly impossible to forgive or forget but I saw a quote that helped me through betrayal “biggest lesson in life is learning that not everyone has the same heart as you”. I ....really think Deanne owns a bigger part of this than it seems. She dated a married man who wanted to kill his wife, with her help; he carried it out and she stayed quiet, then he married his nanny and had 3 kids so Deanne "gave him up" to the police. She could have *stopped* the murder (first one); she jumped in the sack with a known murderer; no wonder she wanted immunity! A "friend" of the hammered wife, who also seemed willing to let an innocent victim die with a murder rap until "guilt" crept in? 🤦 Plus he's so stupid. And then the nanny is stuck with 3 babies of a psycho, smh.

He's having an affair, does bode well for compromising. He wants things most favorable for himself at that moment. Everyone else be damned.

If it wasn't for the constant insistance by a rookie detective to re-review details in this case, this creep Mark might have actually gotten away with this heinous crime. The more experienced detectives made fun of this rookie for being over zealous 😤. I'm glad he stuck to his guns ( it was the treadmill story he doubted)......That poor young man and a new mother, prayers to both family.

His partner at the time decided to try out his theory and turns out, the hubby wouldn't be able to hear the noises of the attack if the treadmill was really running. He gave the rookie all of credit too 🌟. He is now a lead detective. I like good endings.

It seems like he was certain that his intelligence was just so superior that he could easily get away with a perfect murder, so he didn't need to worry about being investigated as a suspect. He didn't realize his lies were not perfect.

yes, he is living with this woman, probably said I love you many times, then one day he enters the room, picks up a hammer that's in there, and hits her in the head with it. Very hard to imagine.

When I see people like this, with such a high level of callousness, I am very confused as to how they can sustain long term relationships to begin with. At some point this cold and callous personality must come to the surface, yet he managed to marry not once by twice! I think my point is, how can someone this callous “love” someone and even get into relationships such as marriage? I will probably never understand... Brilliant analysis as always Dr. Grande!❤️

Yes I think it's so interesting, I'm sure he was very warm and charismatic at first, and I have no doubt the callousness would have emerged, but I think many people can spend a lot of time waiting for the wonderful person they first met to come back. You get so attached to the person's 'good' side that you can't bring yourself to accept their negative qualities. Also women are generally conditioned to be caregivers and give their partners the benefit of the doubt so I think there could be a lot of reasons why someone could end up staying with an abuser til it's too late, despite them openly shifting into their true selves during the relationship. Also found it hard to believe this guy could possibly be 'intelligent' given how many stupid mistakes he made with his crimes but maybe he was just so arrogant he underestimated everyone around him?

You hit the nail with that comment. I always think about that EXACT thing myself, every time I hear a story like this one. It always astonishes me because we are not just talking about narcissistic or abusive person. He is, by all means a callous murderer, who on some level must have been in a loving relationship and marriage to go on and have not one, not two but 3 children ? I could never fathom.

Can you cover any possible relation to the other nuclear power plant technician from Springfield? Homer?

Dr. Grande, can you analyze the "The Grim Sleeper"? He was a serial killer in South Central Los Angeles and from 1984-2010 and was tied to over 130 women murdered/missing. The 2014 HBO documentary "Tales of the Grim Sleeper" is a good resource. I feel this story is shockingly unknown to most people interested in true crime, police incompetence/indifference, and the 1980s crack epidemic. Thank you!

Another heavily pregnant woman murdered. I think his brother even helped to cover up the crime. For the time period we were all shocked. Now it seems like these cases happen all the time. My parents stressed too much getting along with everyone in the context of work, but they were immigrants and had a bright line between work and other facets of life. They did not grasp that the line is quite blurred in American culture. I talk myself out of my intuition all the time, and that is never the right answer. May I ask what type of counseling you got?

If she knew about the allegations, I'd categorise her as a fucking idiot. A harsh but fair appraisal I'd say :) In this case, she didn't know - he was a grieving husband who had suffered a terrible loss as far as she knew. She was also very young.

She didn't know he was just a widower to her. Mark is the one that got himself caught. He wouldn't leave the police alone. The case was closed quickly and the other man was blamed. But Mark HAD to know and kept bugging the police asking for his gun back etc. He did himself in.

I live n the Boston area and remember when he killed his wife and unborn son. I had 2 boys aged 4 and 5 at that time and was truly horrified by the senseless murder of a beautiful young, pregnant woman who was murdered after a Lamaze class. I didn’t believe his story at all !!! There was something about him that just felt off ….I wish they had arrested him before he was able to kill him self! He deserved to suffer in prison for the rest of his life!!! When I hear about other Murderers like Scott Peterson , Chris Watts and other husbands that kill their pregnant wives and children, I always think back to Charles Stuart …..so many horrible, senseless , disgusting , tragic murders! What makes these men do it???

This one struck me as a case where he could have gotten away with it. I wonder if Harrington really said those bizarre things. Was this corroborated in someway or could it all have come from Winger?

You were talking in one of your earlier videos' about extroverts, introverts and fatigue, one thing that is of interest to me is the overtly fatigue I feel when socialising for just one hour with one person, needing hours to recover from this. I have aspergers and feel that there is no cut off from auditory, visual and olfactory stimuli in my case, leading to total overload with amplification of all sensory input, I know that "Renshaw" cells provide a feedback system to the nervous system thereby cutting off or minimizing continuos overload of signal input to the nervous system, what I wonder is are these cells lacking in autistic people, what physiological research tying these cells into psychology is being done in this respect, what the findings are, and given that most Aspergic people are introverts, what now is your opinion concerning the relationship between fatigue, intoverts and extroverts
