MARK'S NOTCAST Ep 374 : "Can you remember when music became a way of life?" 7 April 2024

Thanks to ‪@runoutgrooves274‬ who asks "Can you remember the moment when music stopped being background noise and became a way of life?". I can remember the exact song.
Also ‪@bnhli7190‬ has a question, which gets answered at the end!

“West End Girls” and “True Faith” were incredibly important in the shaping of my musical taste. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧❤️🎶

I wouldn't dream of boring you with the an explanation of my music oddysey but it does run roughly parallel to yours. Some power points if you like......The black hole O.S.T by John Barry must not be overlooked in the fantastic soundtrack category. My obsession with anything that came out of ZTT records and by pure chance one day, picking up a copy of Tin drum by Japan and I was sucked in for the rest of my life. A synth music festival held in Stafford of all places, rammed the final nail of obsession home. Thanks for sharing your story, peace as always. Steve

That Black Hole soundtrack is amazing. It's one of my favourite films. I have the DVD, soundtrack LP, novelisation, and comic book adaptation.

Is music still a way of life today, or has it been reduced to background noise

@@markreed4543 Absolutely, I just feel that today's artists just don't have the same artistic impact as their predecessors, especially when it comes to rock. Great video.

@@theloid Some of the newer acts are great, I find that I change and move through life, I find that some of the lyrical concepts not things I really connect with. If rock acts songs were mostly about knackered old men, I might connect with them more! :)
