Kurt Dying was a late birthday present for me, the day after, Not all presents are good, this was more like socks. A friend announced it like major news as I walked through the front door of their Flat, She studied art with no overwhelming thirst for knowledge, like it would mean something to me - After telling her that's what Junkies do her fake sadness abated - Kurt was 7 years older than us and was a millionaire we were broke on the dole, Which they called a student Allowance, Same thing... "Incesticide" (which my spell check is telling is not a word) is a record company cash in, It's like "The Spaghetti Incident" no one takes it seriously - All this to say I Have 4 copies of "In Utero" two 20th Anniversaries and two 30th's because why not, Mainly because they take up space and that's what its all about in the end. As For record company cash ins the 2CD version of the 30th was $19 and the Box Set was over $400 (I did not pay that) I still haven't opened it yet.

bloody love your vids mate . In utero I prefer tbh than nevermind - such a great album I had tickets to Manchester in ‘94 . good old Kurt 30 years . Thanks again - your vids help me at quite a difficult time for me.

Both 1993 LP and CD has Scott Litt additional mixes of those 2 songs. I believe only 2013 In utero mix (with black cover) has a version with Albini only mix. The original version mixed by albini without Litt has not been released I think.

I thought the original Albini mix was on the first press US vinyl, and an obscure German 2003 LP pressing (by mistake).

It has absolutely been released. It's the album, plus the original mixes of the 2 singles included on the 2013 remaster. A lot of people make the mistake that there is some holy grail original Albini mix. The changes that were made at Geffen's bequest in 1993 (discounting the Litt remixes) were done in *mastering*, so the mix wasn't affected. The fact is there are all sorts of different work-in-progress mixes if that's your bag; I have one called 'first week mix'. Is it some treasure trove of Albini originals? No, it's just the album. Sounds exactly the same minus a bit of mixing and mastering. People also make the mistake of thinking the 2013 Albini mix is the 'lost' original. People are idiots. I remember when they paid attention but they don't do that anymore.

@@stitchgrimly6167 this is my understanding, that extra guitar and vocals were added at final stages. The 2013 Albini mix was done around 2012 by Albini.
