The KJV audio Bible is even better, nothing added, nothing taken away. Revelation 22:18-19. "Look What's Missing" by David W. Daniels. All Bibles are not the same. satan hates the KJV & that's a good enough reason for me to read it. I'm a rebel for JESUS! Praise GOD!

@@dorcaskirsch1119 Here is one example problem between the two translations... KJV verses NIV translation example problem: "Flaggons of wine"? Hosea 3:1 (KJV) Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love FLAGONS OF WINE. or "sacred raison cakes"? Hosea 3:1 (NIV) The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the SACRED RAISIN CAKES.” Here are the original Hebrew words, I took them from the two words used in the KJV and this was the only meanings given for them... KJV "flagon", Hebrew "'ashiyshah": raisin-cake, used in sacrificial feasts KJV "wine", Hebrew "`enab": grapes An extra note, the Hebrew word "`enab" is translated as "grapes" in all other of the 18 locations it is found in the KJV Bible. This is the ONLY verse they translated it as "wine". I also don't see how you get "flaggon" from a word that clearly means "raison-cake", used in sacrificial feasts! That is the ONLY meaning of it! So you tell me, which translation is more accurate here? And TRY and be honest.

@@dorcaskirsch1119 NIV verses the KJV, answering some accusations against the NIV, point by point. So, you're a Bible believing Christian who has heard from someone that the KJV is the only Bible to use and no other. You were told that the KJV was the FIRST English Bible. Perhaps you think it is the Bible that all the apostles used. You were told that certain newer translations like the NIV were all corrupted and had verses removed and words changed in order to remove certain ideas out of the Bible completely? Maybe you're concerned because you were told that the NIV was written and published by Zondervan who also wrote and published the Satanic Bible? There's probably more concerns I am forgetting, but this about covers most of the concerns I have heard. Well, lets go over some of these and see if these claims are in fact true. I'll list the claims and then answer them. 1 The KJV was the first English translation. * No. It was not. The first English translation of the Bible was the Wycliffe Bible by John Wycliffe around 1382. This was followed by many other translations like the Tynsdale Bible around 1534 which was the first version to add verses and such to it to help in study. 2 The KJV was the first English translation authorized by the king of England. * No. It was not. The first English translation authorized by a king of England was The Great Bible in 1539 by king Henry VIII. 3 The KJV we read today was written in 1611. * No, it was not. The KJV Bible we read today was modernized in the 1800s as by that time, English had changed quite a bit and there were whole new letters that didn't even exist before. The letter "J" for example did not exist in 1611. The letter "I" was used to represent the "I" and the "J" sounds. The small "s" didn't exist, the "u" and "v" were reversed so you used "v" instead of "u" to represent the same sound. The "W" didn't exist... well, it sort of did, but it wasn't it's own letter, but it was... just as the name implies, a double "u" (or "v" which was the "u" at the time) so you wrote "VV", a double -u or double-v if you prefer to represent that sound. Some words had totally different spellings and even meanings. So no, it is not the same Bible as the one from 1611, though much of the verses it contains today say the same basic text. 4 The apostles all used a KJV Bible. * No, they did not. In fact, the new testament didn't even exist when the apostles lived as it is made up of a collection of letters the apostles wrote (what we call "books" which is misleading). The letters, or rather, copies of their letters (none of the original exist anymore) were gathered together and it was decided to include with the old testament scriptures as sacred text. The Bible as we know it today was compiled into the one book around 400AD, over three centuries after all the apostles had long since died. The apostles taught from the scriptures, which, when you read that term in the new testament, always refers ONLY to the old testament, though there is no problem in including the apostles letters in that now, one has to understand what the apostles were referring to when they said that. But that's another topic. 5 The NIV removed verses and changed words to hide certain topics. * There are two sets of manuscripts which the KJV and the NIV translated from. The KJV uses a completely different set than the NIV. The set of manuscripts that the KJV uses are greater in number (more copies), and they are newer. the manuscripts the NIV uses are fewer in number and are amongst the oldest manuscripts used. Much older than the ones the KJV uses. So when you see verses missing from the NIV that are in the KJV. The very fact that the KJV manuscripts are newer means they were ADDED to the KJV manuscripts, they were not removed from the NIV. Also, because ALL Bibles are translations into English from Hebrew and Aramaic for the old testament, and from Greek for the new testament, not all words easily translate directly into an English counterpart. Some Greek words for example can have multiple different meanings where there is no single English counterpart so the translators have to pick the word they feel best fits. This is why you will see slightly different words in the same verses. BOTH words chosen are accurate translations, but different translators chose slightly different words based on their own opinion. In some cases, words were completely altered in the newer KJV to a different one. One case is where one book in the KJV refers to Jesus' father as Joseph where as in the NIV it actually calls him his "father". The KJV was altered because people felt that Joseph should not be referred to as Jesus' father because God is his father. But when you examine the oldest manuscripts, you discover that the original apostle actually wrote "father" and not Joseph, which proves the KJV was altered, not the NIV. In other cases, missing verses were added to the KJV. The reason seems to be because someone tried to harmonize the different books that tell the same story so that they all say the same thing. What they did was honest and not to try and be deceptive, but it was wrong for them to do so. Those verses are missing from the NIV because they simply were NEVER written by an apostle. BUT, the notion that they were removed to hide the idea they were talking about is proven false as you will find the same verses talking about that same topic in another book in the NIV. There are many such examples which I went over in my Facebook note on the topic with all the verses people have raised questions about to me; some are REALLY bad translations and blatantly wrong and easily proven so in the KJV. If you take the time to do your OWN research and stop listening to online frauds. 6 The NIV was written and published by the same people that wrote the Satanic Bible, Zondervan Publishing. * No, absolutely not. The NIV was written by Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society). Zondervan did not write it or the Satanic Bible. Zondervan is a publisher. They distribute and sell books, they did not author the NIV. This was a lengthy read, but I hope it clears up some misconceptions about newer translations like the NIV and some outright lies and deceptions being spread about it. It's very easy to read and well done translation. Perhaps you can see that there is a good reason why Satan doesn't want anyone reading it? Note: I (Neil Roy) did not copy this from any website, I wrote it myself after much research. But I did save it to a text file so I could easily post this information again as I have been typing this out A LOT lately and wearing my fingers and keyboard out. ;)

Read it enough and we will memorize it too. I read a book called 10 Peas in a Pod about a large homeschool family in the 50’s(?) who traveled around reciting scripture and giving a gospel presentation. As soon as the kids started reading they read the Bible 1/2 hour in the morning. At age 10 they increased it to 1 hour every morning. The family (including all babies!) read scripture 30 min after every meal together, even on the road in the car. Dad insisted they wake up the sleeping baby. All 10 (8 kids) memorized the New Testament and Psalms and Proverbs. Several memorized the entire Old Testament. They didn’t set out to memorize it. It just happened. One of their 8 year olds memorized a book of the Bible and recited it at these events. I highly recommend the book! Very inspiring!

According to biblical scholars this was the original intention of the written manuscripts called the gospels. They were meant to be performed orally and publicly not read privately.

Is this an interpretation based on the NIV, or is it a word for word monologue of an older NIV translation? I was trying to follow along in the Bible, but couldn't find the exact translation.
