My biggest concert regret not seeing him

I'm helping my brother raise his son. They moved in with me right after my nephew turned one; he's 9 now. We just watched "The Princess Bride" tonight. His first. My brother and I watched it a million times growing up. This might be the new song I play/sing to him.

One of the most heartfelt vocal deliveries ever. No flourishes, no tricks, just pure emotion. Goosebumps every time. Beautiful. ❤️

Me too. I saw this movie with my parents when I was a kid just after it was released in the theaters. It's always been a favorite in our house. Years ago my Nana was visiting and had never seen the movie so we knew we had to show her. She enjoyed and I'll never forget how much she laughed at the "mawwiage" scene.

This was the song that my ex-husband and I danced to at our wedding. It invokes deep emotion in me as well. While the marriage only lasted 8 years, we’ll be friends until death.

The best love song of all time. Such purity of emotion. The vocals are hauntingly beautiful. I am struck with strong feelings every single time I hear it. When I met my husband it was a Disney moment. I loved him before "Hello" and we've now been married for 18+ yrs with 3 sons. Our love is a storybook story love. I can't hear this song and not think of how lucky we are.

It's impossible to describe what this song invokes inside of me. Only those who get it.... will get it.

You know, I never thought I'd make a "Why can I only 'like' once?" comment, but... Why can I only "like" once?! I feel no shame admitting I've never made it through this movie without at least one or two tears being shed.

Words cannot begin to describe the amount of emotions i feel everytime i listen to this. As im sitting here writing this comment im holding myself back from just letting it all out. Something about this song is just too beautiful for me to handle. I pray one day i can find someone just like the person hes talking about in the song. I wish the same for those who feel the same..

When I first started dating my boyfriend I introduced him to the princess bride, and kissed him for the first time as the credits rolled and this song played. It has a very special place for both of us now, and will be the song our first dance will be to at our wedding:)

This is one of the weirdest songs. It is so clunky and awkward yet brings tears to my eyes and swells my heart every time. My story book story didn't have a happy ending, apparently love doesn't conquer all. But my story book love is as beautiful and strong as ever. It truly is as real as the feelings I feel.

My wedding song, sung by my brother and my brother in law in a duet 2 guitars /2 voices. Tears for everyone !!

The coolest thing about this movie is, that the front man of Mink DeVille got an Oscar nomination for it.

I love this movie, own it and the book (yes there really is a book for those who don't know and it's brilliant too, I used to read it to my sons at bedtime) and I never, EVER get bored of a single scene. It's probably the only truly perfect movie I've ever seen. I just wish it had much more recognition than it got, it should have Oscars and Golden Globes and Palm D'Or all over it. As to this wonderful song, it's beautifully performed by a singer who like the film never got the recognition he deserved. Mark Knopfler's guitar is as always wonderful but Willy DeVille's singing is just beautiful and perfectly conveys the spirit of the film it graces with its presence.

Willy DeVille is soooo under rated, anyone who enjoys this should definitely listen to his other works. The album he did in New Orleans, with the classic New Orleans musicians is amazing.

This song is awesome, definitely one of the all time greatest vocals, in any song ever made!!! Now that, that's been said... I had a COMPLETELY different picture in my mind on what the singer looked like!!!! I was WAY off!!!

You know how couples have 'our song'? This is our song for my wife and I. Out of all the music we've listened to over the last 35 years, we both stop and get quiet when we hear this one.

2 years ago I watched the Princess Bride and was blown away at the end of the movie with this song and the beautiful voice. At age 72 I found my new Idol and was crushed to learn he was no longer with us. I sing this song on occasions to introduce Willy to others.

Bought the Album Miracle in the 80s and played it over and over again on disk and walkman while traveling. Storybook Love is one of my favorites. Willy DeVille was a great singer.

A very moving song I don't think any other person could ever put so much feeling into it . I love music like this you can feel as well as hear song .every one came together to make magic .

I have loved this film and song for 20+ yrs, and am only after finding out it was written and sung by Willy DeVille - embarrassed to say I had not heard of him before today. My older brothers introduced me to The Princess Bride, Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, and many other brilliant musicians/bands/songs/films. There will be words today as to why they left him out! If I don't end up researching and listening to him for the rest of the day...

Willy DeVille is worth the treasure hunt. 'Heaven Stood Still', 'Demasiado Corazon', '(I love you) Still', 'Spanish Stroll', literally hundreds of amazing songs he wrote, but his voice is the most amazing instrument.
