I have followed Mr Knopfler since 1978 I'm now 55 yrs young now. This is without a doubt my favourite track oh Mt Knopfler. Beautiful lyrics and heaven sent. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🎸.

No one can make a guitar sound as beautiful as Mark Knopfler.🎸🎸🎸🎸

Mr. Knopfler, you have and always will be a truly gifted guitarist and lyricist as well. My family and I saw you in concert at the Wolf Trap in Virginia on 6/26/05 while you were on tour promoting this album and you (as well as your very talented band members) were absolutely amazing and very professional! I haven't often seen you playing in this style, utilizing your tremolo and using a pick, but as always, it sounds beautiful and brilliant!

Never seen someone so dedicated to his own music keep ot coming

I think you’ll find there was one song DS I recall from either Alchemy or the Sydney BIA concert where he played with a pick. Maybe industrial disease, maybe two young lovers.

Shocking to see how beautiful this song grew from an extremely melodic "filler" in this Avo Session, to the multi-instrumental perfection of Mark's cooperation with EmyLou Harris in the "Roadrunner" tour recently. Loved it way back then, fully respect it now. And love the way the "old gang" of Avo and other sessions have stayed around - bit like the drummer for Paul Brady said "I can't write songs like these, so the next best thing is to play them". I couldn't write them either, so the next best thing is to listen to them!.

I have listen to this song a hundred times and it is just sooooo beautiful and relaxing.Mark Knopfler is in my opinion the greatest guitarist in the world and he plays with so much feeling and passion.I have a tattoo of Dwight Yoakam who is one of my biggest idols and inspirations on my right forearm and i´m giving serious thoughts of getting a tattoo of Mark Knopfler on my left forearm. I saw him last year and it's bucket list kinda thing. without you even knowing, until you do see him in person!!! Can't wait to see him again in my lifetime because it such a moving experience, like I've never experienced before!!!!! The best music from the soul and love personified!!!.

No such thing as a bad version of this song. Amazingly gifted musician, amazing story teller. Every song is a history lesson, a life lesson.......some kind of fable.

Master Knopfler most likely will not be given the recognition or acclaim he is worthy & deserving of in his lifetime, sadly not uncommon, but I rather think he’s not interested or seeking those things; that’s not who he is. To me it seems he wants his music, the notes & lyrics, to touch us & mean sumthin to us. For those of us he has touched thru his artistic GENIUS he gets the recognition & acclaim & somehow he knows. But again I don’t think he iz consciously seeking it though I believe it makes him happy & he appreciates it. That’s why he iz still giving so much of himself. His notes, verses, & choruses don’t come from his brain, they come from who he iz, his heart & soul. Every song iz a small part, a brush stroke, of a master piece that will never be finished. Kinda like the “Mona Lisa,” DaVinci never finished it cuz he kept adding more strokes. While Master Knopfler keeps adding more notes.

Thank you, Mark. I have been listening to your amazing music more than fourty years.

Muy bueno Mark, lastima que no venga a la Argentina, lo sigo desde que estaba en Dire Straits, hoy con el dólar como esta debe ser imposible traerlo. Nos deberemos seguir contentando con verlo en estos videos, que son de muy buena calidad por suerte.

In Basel ist er immer besonders gut. Ist wahrscheinliche die speziele Atmosphäre. Er hat gesagt, die Schweizer seien immer die lautesten. Er hat aber, nicht daran gedacht, dass er im Dreiländereck Schweiz/Deutschland/Frankreich aufgetreten ist. Es waren im St.Jakob Stadion mindestens mehr als 50 % Deutsche ( sog. Schwobe) und die haben so laut gepfiefen und gegröĺlt. Und Elsässer/Franzosen (sog. Waggis) waren auch noch stark vertreten.Dire Straits und MK hat eine große Fangemeinde in Südbaden, besonders im südwestlichsten Teil von Südbaden, dem sog. Hochalemannen Land, speziel im Herrgottswinkel.🤩😅🇩🇪🇫🇷🇨🇭
