Beautiful is the word. Beautiful music, beautiful lyrics, beautiful guitar, beautiful guitar playing. One of Mark's very best love songs.

Mark's songs have rare depth for mainstream music. Aside from a few commercial pop songs, everything he has crafted lyrically tells a story or conveys a compelling message, composed upon a bed of memorable melody. I'm also a huge fan of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Supertramp, Steely Dan and many more. But above them all, despite his untrained male voice, Mark stands supreme in my opinion; poet, wordsmith, story-teller, composer, musician, visionary.

I agree with you ! Music moves us, touches our deepest feelings and Marc Knopfler with his incredible talent of songwriting, composing, orchestrating, singing, guitar play - everything combined in one person . This is so exceptional ! And one additional quality I discovered in Mark Knopfler : his modesty and generosity !

The album of the same name is a treasure for me, I've loved this CD ever since buying it years ago. There is a live concert DVD for this album that has Mark talking about the inspiration for each song before he sings it, which gives a great insight into how Mark thinks, but also a history lesson . WONDERFUL

This great man is responsible for me loving so many genres of music as he is so diverse and he just puts a sprinkle of his magic on any genre and I'm sold LOL. great song, good to see Richard Bennett playing along side Mark, and has done for over 20 years, Richie being Neil Diamonds guitarist for 17 years prior to that. you recently played father & son by mark A few months back, listen to the version in private from this concert its far far better, he plays with some of the greatest Irish folk musicians of all time in this concert.

From the same concert you should listen to Darling Pretty & wonderful version of Brothers in Arms[not to be missed]
