Like, when he wrote this, years ago, he probably thought "good song, I like that", but never in his wildest, craziest dreams, would he have foreseen this night with Emmy Lou Harris laying it down like gospel. In front of her daughters, yet. This is why you dedicate your life to music.

I like the way Madam Emmylou starts the intro through strumming then when she starts singing the first verse, she quickly goes to picking notes, before you know it Mr. Knopfler's guitar sets in, beautiful harmonies!!!

Baby, I see this world has made you sad Some people can be bad The things they do, the things they say But baby, I'll wipe away those bitter tears I'll chase away those restless fears That turn your blue skies into gray Why worry There should be laughter after pain There should be sunshine after rain These things have always been the same So why worry now Why worry now Baby, when I get down I turn to you And you make sense of what I do And though it isn't hard to say But baby, just when this world seems mean and cold Our love comes shining red and gold And all the rest is by the way Why worry There should be laughter after pain There should be sunshine after rain These things have always been the same So why worry now Why worry now ❤🎉🌷⚘️🌺💐

Greg Szeman hey dude, mark isn't underrated in any way. He belongs to the peers and all musicians name him as a world class musician - instrumental, singing, songwriting. Joe & Greg: Mark Knopfler may not be underrated among fellow musicians, critics and the discerning public, but he does seem to have a fairly modest demeanour, avoiding self-promotion and not projecting a massive ego on the public consciousness the way some others do or have done. Perhaps that low-key persona is what you were getting at, Greg?

A harmonic resonance combining the beauty of music and the humanity it glorifies that only the finest can channel like this. When you're compelled to rest in the silent afterglow, allowing the ripples from the wake of such a beautiful, momentarary resonance carry you as it lingers, the serenity can be powerful as well as peaceful. You can't will something like this. Like a rainbow or aurora borealis, it happens when it happens, and if fortunate to recognize and seize those moments, those happenings, you've allowed yourself a rare gift that can't be manufactured, bought, or ordered on demand. Thank you both for this genuinely northern lights moment.

Lyrics: Baby i see this world has made you sad Some people can be bad The things they do, the things they say But baby, I'll wipe away those bitter tears I'll chase away those restless fears That turn your blue skies into gray Why worry, there should be laughter after pain There should be sunshine after rain These things have always been the same So why worry now, why worry now ... Baby when i get down i turn to you And you make sense of what i do I know it isn't hard to say But baby, just when this world seems mean and cold Our love comes shining red and gold And all the rest is by the way Why worry, there should be laughter after pain There should be sunshine after rain These things have always been the same So why worry now, why worry now Songwriter: Mark Knopfler

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts.
