Either A. Pal Pacino is terribly stupid - doubtful, or he thought he was in a terrible skit for a very unfunny TV show. B. He was paid a LOT of money. I mean a L O T... like a ship full of money. C. He hates people D. He wanted to make one unequivocally bad film. E. He's done something very bad and was blackmailed to do the film. F. The thinking behind this film must have been "Adam seems to be the same person in all his films, let's show his wonderful character acting skills.." And in that, they made Adam Sandler become... Adam sandler in a fat suit, with a lisp and a wig! I saw a film starring Richard prior when I was 10, called Dynamite chicken.. Up until recently I have described it as the worst film I have ever seen. Jack and Jill felt like my eyes and ears were being raped. Surely Pacino knew this was a Turkey.
@6663312 жыл бұрын
Jack and Jill is awful but I have to say, the way in which Mark describes he wanted to laugh in this film is quite similar to the way in which I didn't laugh watching The michael cera movie, Youth in revolt. I remember watching it and I didn't laugh once, I wanted to laugh but it wasn't what I wanted it to be. 90 mins of un-funnyness and I sat there at the end wondering why on earth I didn't laugh once. Jack&Jill is crucially worse but Youth in revolt ain't good.

Ben Stiller played Adam Sandler very well in Tropic Thunder. You might say he went full r~tard.
Pacino's role is obviously a parody. Do you seriously think he would put that much clown make-up on?? It's. A. Parody. He. Knows. What. He's. Doing.
F. Everyone's entitled to make one take your breath away, totally illogical, insane bad judged decision. - this could be his.

I think he honestly just has bad judgement. He figured it would be 'fun' to do a comedy movie, and has no idea what's going to work or not work. DeNiro has made the same mistake several times.

It's obviously a parody cameo. Do you think Pacino really has a thing about donuts?? Watch the movie.
Adam Sandler obviously has quite an amount of absolutely useless movies. But c'mon he totally had several decent movies some of them were genuinely great.
this film is pacino's worst career move since revolution in the 80s now that was a bad movie!

Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Punch Drunk Love, Funny People and Little Nicky...couple of other i can't think of he can act and do silly humour but lately he's is being lazy.
it was so bad but i liked it better than thats my boy....that was the most idiotic and painfully dumb movie i have ever seen, adam sandler desperately needs a comeback
If I could just direct people to this: /watch?v=Z22fSyedgoE ......youre welcome
Funny People is the most boring film i've seen.
Adam Sandler is the least funny person in human history. And prehistory.

@EpifanesEuergetes no, there's Rob Schneider
None of that was funny. Troll harder.
Kermode is annoying in this review. He's guilty of exactly the thing he's criticising the film for: trying to be funny but failing.
