The sonic landscape seems to be familiar but such is the way of many different genres. I think the musical personality shines through in a way that makes them distinct from each other.
The drumming and synth are so sick. Wish the bass was grooving more.

The bass is quite low and possibly not really audible when you listen on speakers that are weak on low bass frequencies. On my PA system it's quite impressive what is at hand. Maybe this explains the different perceptions.
