two drummers actually jamming! instead of just trading. so rare, maybe the first iv seen. They are making music and not just have a big solo over the top each other.and the result? two voices, one mind. Beautiful.

It took these guys ten minutes to get where everyone else would start. It's a great example of how not to "blow your load" in the first thirty seconds of a solo.

Jojo holding down those brushes in the beginning was awesome. Wish I could flam my feet like Benny lol
Two of the best technicians and interpreters of rhythm and music there is.
I just loved how comfortable these guys are in their skins. They have nothing to prove, no-one to impress and as a result they were just free to create and flow in the moment. Thanks for a sublime 14 minutes guys.
This is what drumming is all about... Grooving, having fun and communicating!
This is what happens when two talents don't feel the need to show off and push as many notes as posible into the room... just great airy groove with nuace and taste
Who says playing the drums is just making noise? These two masters make the drums sing.
Not showing up to show up, but to work in concert creating beauty.
Normally when i've seen two drummers play at the same time it sounds like the drums have been pushed down a set of stairs. It's a mess of noise and clashing parts. This was so tasteful and musical. Great stuff!
one of the greatest drum duets ever . No overplaying. No competition just pure playing beautifully together . Two of the greatest drummers playing together this is just amazing.
I was there. I was absolutely amazing!
Man, that was great. Not a competition - two musicians playing off each other and with each other. Serious.

When it comes to drumming, there's nothing more precise and beautiful than Jojo's hands in action.
Benny‘s floor tom…awesome!
In an age where “Drum Solos” are abundant, this performance leaps out! It took me on a journey, showing beautiful dynamic and rhythmic landscapes. I can honestly say, that was as close to perfection as it can get. Inspiring beyond belief. Thank you soo much for share Benny.

Maybe because it's a duet and not a solo?
@TroyGrech_In2Drums
2 жыл бұрын
Yeeeees! @@ajdrums8075. Thank you soo much for that valuable insight. The fact it's a "duet" is and not a "solo" is why it was soo good. Not the masterful playing and musicality of these 2 particular players. I'm sure I would have appreciated it just as much had it been any other drummers performing, so long, of course, it was a "duet" and not a solo. Please disregard my former comment as from your superior observation was purely based on the idea of a solo improvision and clearly does not apply in this circumstance.
@ajdrums8075

@@TroyGrech_In2Drums Hahaha triggered! I found it funny you put quotation and capslock on "Drum Solos" when it is a duet that's all. Feel free to send a link to a solo from either of these master drummers that sound better than this duet? I don't know of any. Why? Because you can't layer the sounds and ideas like this duet as a soloist even if you have Donati like independence and interdependence.
@TroyGrech_In2Drums

LOL! @@ajdrums8075 triggered!? Each to their own. Like everyone else, you are entitled to your opinion on anything, and that is totally fine. But honestly, your above comment on my use of grammar to describe the feeling of inspiration this video sparked in me as a player to progress on my own musical journey actually says more about you than anyone else here. It seems sad that people on the internet are compelled to bring others down in an effort to bolster their own personal insecurities. If arguing an insignificant point about a comment on a video really makes you feel better about yourself. Then I conceded. You are right. Have a great day.

So. Many. Colours!
No ego. Simply two percussive geniuses creating rhythm.
That was absolutely incredible. Both Grebb and Mayer played with so much groove and creativity not covering each other up once but accenting each other.

@@farshimelt while I’ve seen Benny make a toy SpongeBob kit sound passable before, Sonor really is a cut above the rest. Germans don’t fuck around, and they’re one of the very oldest drum companies in existence. Lots of time to perfect their quality and sound. Chris Heuer (incredible drum builder/ guru who fixes and spruces up kits so they sound their absolute best) has gone on record as saying Sonor is the only brand that he has never found a bearing edge issue with straight from the factory.
wow , two masters at work . very cool experience
I have been waiting my entire life for this video. Thank you.
Two phenomenal musicians, so in sync. Creative and technical. So inspiring! Saw you at a drum workshop in NZ back in 2008 or so. Still watching, admiring and learning. Jojo is a new introduction to me but also incredible.
Guys, there was the collaboration of the century for me!! So grateful for that!😍
High level of drumming absolutely , but really enjoy to watch this ❤️🔥

that was absolutely delicious drumming.

Thank you Benny finally for this video. Such a great dialogue.
Extremely tasteful and groovy. Magical!
I am like, why are you both doing this. 😅 This is the first drumming that made me engaged in it until the full video. I was like what's next, and also wait let me listen what's going on. It's so joyful and exciting to listen to. Bang on!!! 🎉

Illegal Tom Bass sounding on Benny Greb's side. Perfect jam, you couldn't expect less with these drum gods.
Wtf.. drum solo that is engaging and not boring at all? Whoa there!
thank you
I met Steve Smith a while back and he said let the music guide you. Exemplified here so very beautifully. I keep coming back to this video :)
My two biggest idols in drumming. Each with such different sound and style. Love how real this feels because of the improvisation!
Can’t wait to wake up and play some grooves tomorrow
The mix sounds amazing. One of the best I’ve heard in a while
I simply love you guys
Jojo’s brush work is so freaking clean
A vibrant conversation with absolutely zero back and forth mimicking.
Two masters making magic, just thankful this was captured on video and shared. Thank you!
Very nicely done- good feel, no over the top “ I can play faster and louder than you” they complemented each other and developed that wonderful blending of two kits, two minds. Just great....
Only 2.5 minutes in, and I feel euphoria... this is beautiful. I love seeing people really "feel" their instrument.
This is so good its as if they were talking but in a whole different language that we can understand but not through the words of the mouth.
As much as I love watching two drummers trade eights shedding their soul out, I think I love this a bit more
The Jojo face at 7:03 say it all, pure emotion!! So cool the orchrestation space Benny chooses...
It plagues me that I couldn't be there. My 3 favourite drummers are Benny, Jojo and Thomas Lang, I just hope that one day I'll be able to see them live
Both gentlemen with finesse on the drums. Each has a time to speak. 💙

What a Great duo!! It's rare that I can watch a drum solo for this long...and don't get bored :)
Very captivating... I went into a trance listening to it on my headphones...

From micro to macro finesse. Two incredible talents.
Oh my ..... That was so so so good
a min and 30 seconds in and already got goosebumps
When they lock into the groove together...what a sound
Oh man, this is what my soul needed...
Never wanted that to end! Amazing!!! That´s what i call musical drumming!
