Mark Gardener (RIDE) Interview on Music, his Genelec 8260's & More...
Музыка
Mark Gardener may be better known to the world as one of the founding members of the Oxford-based indie band RIDE - first signing to Alan McGee's Creation Records back in 1988, RIDE released several seminal albums and toured the world. After their split in 1996, Gardener pursued a solo career of which the most recent development was being hired to produce original music for the well-received documentary "Upside Down, the Creation Records Story".
Gardener recently took delivery of a pair of Genelec 8260A Tri-Amplified DSP Monitoring Loudspeakers as his main reference speakers, so we traveled to his purpose-built Oxford writing and mixing studio to talk about how he first got interested in music, RIDE, writing music and those fine loudspeakers.

RIDE were my absolute favourite band of the 90's there was a period in my teens where I listened to nothing but ride for a straight 3 months; I still listen to ride now and enjoy it as much now as I did back then. These guys live were just incredible. I have been to many gigs and since seeing ride live, no other band touched on them for live performances in my opinion. Thank you for the music guys!!

Awesome!! Mark is a legend! I was at Banbury tech when they got signed to creation, it was so exiting! seeing them at banbury united football club then on the word 18 months later! So pleased Mark is putting back in to the local Oxford scene...amazing!

the best.......i love ride.........love Mark
Gardner seems like an altogether good dude. I can’t afford a pair of these $10,000 monitors though
What about a RIDE reunion!!! Be F in Sweet
I'd be curious to see measurements, but apparently with room boost, the f6 point on those 3-way Genelec monitors can get just under 20hz.
legend! What happened the hair Mark?

That short hair just DOES NOT SUIT MARK ATALL! I don't believe it fell out naturally or anything like that as I've seen him with short hair since 2001. WHY CAN'T HE JUST GROW HIS LONG DOWN TO THE SHOULDERS HAIR STYLE BACK????!!! for fucks sake...
