Really great interview. Thank you both for sharing. I grew up in the 70s. And it was tv that brainwashed us back then, no Internet, social media. My mom died when I was 11. We were a large family. Dad worked double shifts at the post office . So children raised children. I am ashamed of the life I’ve lived in my 20s. I look back now wondering where I went wrong. We all went to Catholic school till high school. My college anthropology class said God doesn’t exist. My dad did give up on me after the age of 19. My sister tells me this often. He did his job . And he no longer had to do anymore. I know he did the best he could, but I wish he was more of a dad to me. Never really talked to me about anything. He was born in 1920. He had a hard life too. Lived on the streets of NY when he had no parents. I forgive him for not being there for me. I made unholy moments all the time in my 20s. Not taking care of my body and soul…. I am back because of you Matthew Kelly. I’m learning to know God and Jesus again. I did get my life in order by my 30s. Married a good kind man. Have 2 beautiful daughters. I ask God everyday now what is your will for me today? Open my eyes so I can see. Open my ears so I can hear. Open my heart so I can love all mankind. And keep forgiving over and over. Society is trying to breakdown families. They’re doing a good job with financial stress. Keep close to God. I pray everyday now, and try to do the rosary as well. Thank you and God bless you both .

Yes, this was the best interview ever. I love the work that Matthew Kelly does to bring us all closer to God. May God keep blessing his ministry 🙏 Mary, your story looks a lot like mine. My mom died when I was 12. And I was child # 12 of 13 children that my parents had. Both were wonderful parents. My father migrated to NY with one of my older brothers from Colombia, South America, and 6 years later, my mother died. So, my dad had to remarry because he had no legal papers, and all the younger children (5 of us) were brought to NY, exactly 40 years ago. When I was young I did a lot of horrible things, and no one day passes without me feeling regrets. I thank God because I never did drugs, never, and for that I am grateful to God because we went to High School here in NY in the 80's and it was God's grace that was holding us. I am grateful for God's love and forgiveness.

@@anarendon3780 thank you for sharing your story. How we struggled as children. Thank God your parents were good people. My mom was very physically abusive, And demeaning. I wonder sometimes how we survived, and chose to raise our children kindly and without violence. God was with us. Now I’m living in pain with autoimmune for the past 10 years. God has helped me heal, but I still am in pain. Saw the Chosen the other day, and the disciple James asked Jesus why he didn’t heal his limp. And Jesus said to him, wouldn’t it mean more to people that you are not healed, yet still carry a strong faith. I believe this is my journey. I’m 60 now, and I think I’ve healed as much as possible. My only prayer is to get closer to God , to love him as much as I hear other people love him. I’m still not there yet. God bless you and your family.

@@maryfisher9956 Amén 🙏🏻 God bless you and your family as well! I am 55, and I have Lupus. It is not easy, but like you mentioned above , what is more important now is to follow Christ, and we just take one day at a time, with the “CERTAINTY “ that God is with us ALL THE TIME🙏🏻❤️

God loves to hear His Children talking about Him with each other. And He will show us this if we are paying attention. The connection with the movie Miracle on Ice is a little example. Be Alert and He will open us up to much more than we can ever imagine. Listen up Tony!!!🙏🏻☝🏻

Thank you for this interview. My son has fallen away from the church. I have been praying diligently for his return. He has a young family now and has not returned to church. They love sports. Thanks for bringing some hope.

French vanilla for me as well, the problem was I started putting too much in my coffee and it became obvious to me that I was getting addicted to the French vanilla, so I stop drinking coffee for the most part and went to tea

So I’m 56 female single woman - youngest is getting married. 😊. Was let go from a hospital job (registration). Searching for what does God want me to do? I need to keep payments on the house and willing to go a distance to make an income to keep my house and monthly invoices a float!
