    I really admired the courage John showed in winning that final frame. I also really admired how gracious Mark was in this interview. As far as I'm concerned they are both winners and amazing ambassadors of the sport.

    My nerves were jangling just watching it on TV. Both players are a credit to their sport . They took part in the best snooker match I've watched in many years and well done to John Higgins for holding his nerve in making that clearance .

    Sensational climax. As others have said, it’s a shame there must be a loser. Allen played better than Higgins throughout but just let the door open in the final frame. There’s no embarrassment here- it was an incredible game. I was sat in a czech pub with two czech non-snooker-fans and they were transfixed during the final three frames. Maybe we made two snooker converts tonight!

    Miracle Clearance is right, Mark Allen should be proud of himself because up until that final moment of magic he was exerting tremendous pressure on a Snooker Legend. If Mark Allen continues working hard at his own game and stays on the path he is currently on he is definitely destined to become a future Snooker World Champion himself. 🎯👊💯

    I'm a huge fan of mark since he was a young lad. Honestly I really think mark needs to go back to his older game and play a tad faster. Great tournament having said that.

    what an ending. maybe its written in the stars for john this year. Allen's miss was crucial. Only the 8th time in crucible history in the last 16 where a match was won on the final black.

    I haven't seen the whole match but there were occasions where Mark went for safety while if it was Mark Williams, he would have taken the shot... maybe should have been more aggressive? Just opinion. Thanks

    he is. wev said it before. so many times, he turns down shots he should go for, and should keep a steady pace. yes, its easy to say that looking on, but hes a legend over here, he is so down to earth too. Happy for Higgins too. Love how these 2 guys are normal human beings with extraordinary talent. Allen will be a multiple wc winner

    Happened in the Tour Championship against Mark Williams. He had so many opportunities to get going, but over-thought the shot and played safe, which didn't go his way at all. He started to play more freely and aggressive at 9-0 down and put 5 frames in a row on the board, which in my eyes should've told him something.

    @@nickflaskett257 lol very true. surely he must realise this?! did you see the stephen hendry v steve davis pre tournament frame where they talked about the wc and their predictions, Hendry said he didnt think Allen will win it, for the reasons youve said, because of over-thinking and playing safe when he should be be more attacking.     He just needs to speed up he plays him self in trouble, He takes to long now on easy shots for him, its clear to see hedru said it Ronnie said it they both said mark plays his best when flowing going in to this event he was avreaging 31 seconds a shot the last person to win the worlds with A 30 plus shot time was peter ebdon
