Maritime ATV Gathering - Windmills Run ......kind of

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Myself and a few buds had a run planned in the same area that the Maritime ATV Gathering facebook group was doing a run. We decided to join in on the first half to avoid cross traffic and we branched off later on to do some more technical trails back.
Location was from Ellershouse to Tantallon in Nova Scotia, Canada. The group ended up going to Wingin' it restaurant, while we had lunch at a fish and chip truck in Tantallon.
CORRECTION OF STATEMENT IN THE VIDEO:
I mentioned that some shared use rail trails that received OHV funding and then got shut down to motorized use. That is not correct. There are some trails that where non motorized and had never received OHV funding that are now open to motorized use.

Looked like it was a good run and a good trail to travel on. Good to see DNR out, hope to see DNR/RCMP more often on the trails throughout the area.

We need more enforecment on the trails. Those who complain about it usually are the ones who cause the same issues that end up closing our trails.

Thanks a lot for sharing your ride, it's inspiring. Newbee on here, discovered you few months back thanks to the 660 maintenance video as it helps working on mine. I'm not ready for such rides, but you are showing what is possible, and that's great ! Thanks a lot ! As you said many new people with ATVs and offroad, have to say watching your videos also is a motivation ;)

I for sure appreciate the words, Alexandre. I think getting yourself out there for no matter what length of time is great. Get yourself used to your machine and its capabilities and limitations before taking on bigger and longer rides.

I’ve been riding ATVs for the last 23 years and I am always always the last one in the group. I want everyone in front of me. Don’t have to worry about the guy behind me and I go at my own pace. Seen way too many incidents over the years. Everyone is different but that’s just what I’ve always been most comfortable with. I’m moving to my first SxS soon and right now the RZR Pro XP is what I’m most interested in but I am way too curious about the X3 to not at least sit in one to see what it’s like. I have to agree with you though, I think the RMAX would be a great all around unit especially here in the maritimes

I think the X3 could be a good trail rig once property kitted out for the trails here and you can always address the laid back seat position. It's just nice to not have to pump an additional 5 frand into a machine you just spent 25-30 grand on not even out the door.

I always enjoy your videos, the style of trails you ride are the same style i enjoy riding. I bought The Yamaha Viking because i like to drive slow and gauk however If i was going to replace it it would be with the Yamaha Wolverine 850 with a little more power and suspension. Thanks for sharing with us and keep up the good work.

So… Been following you for years. I’m a fan. I like your Content, you do a good job. Editing is great. Me personally… I have no problem with DNR patrolling the trails. We need organization… with the same people believe in a governing body such as atvans or not. It’s not perfect… But it’s all we have for now. My recommendation is for anyone that isn’t happy with the current governing body that represents all ATV’ers in Nova Scotia to step up. If you don’t like the way that things are run… Then join, rather than push back. We need strong voices we need new blood to move forward. We need a governing body to work with a government to make shit happen. You know that I have been a supporter of your channel for a long time… But I also believe that we need some type of structure. Naysaying… Bitching and moaning… Will never get us where we need to be. Yes shits moving slowly… I’m not happy with the pace either… That’s what we have. There’s an AGM for ATVANS THE end of the month… Join… Show up. Voice your concerns… OFFER solutionS to help move things forward.

Absoluetly agree on the stepping up Trevor. My tastes have been quite sour for a long time with the curret organization. Back years ago my father was on the executive board of said organization. I have meeting notes that talk about the same stuff that we are still talking about over 12-14 years ago.....no change. Ive also had friends who have been thrown out of meetings because his ideas where not in line with the boards adgenda amd not welcomed back...one of his ideas? allowing any club...not just the ones sanctioned by the ones who distribute the OHV funds....access the money that all atvers pay into every year for trail improvement. it was shot down because they want 100 percent of the control. Its not like many of us havent tried, but its hard to make a difference when the current government paid board of the organization controls who gets in via vote. In my mind there is a lot of old boy club type corruption going on and right now no way to help

great video, what trail was it when you were going across the dam? With editing it makes it hard to follow where you go, and as far as DNR in the news pediatricians stated a lot of injuries to youth because of atvs so similar to the 90s the hammer will be out again Thanks

Thanks for dropping by! The name of that trail was "Beeswanger" named by the Safety Minded ATV association whom has a club around that area and maintains a lot of those trails. There are some pretty nice little technical cut throughs that can be found in and around that area on the south shore.

@@ruyguy8888 Great video. I have ridden a lot of that area and there are trails for all skill levels. I thought the name of the trail you were on was Muskrat trail but I could be wrong. Yeah coming across a pile of trash in the woods really gets the blood boiling. If I cam I will try and pick some up but unfortunately there just can be too much.

Not hard to tell the dnr watches the maritime atv gathering Facebook page. Keep an eye out for those new signs atvans is putting in the woods that states you need to have atvans trail pass by law. Welcome to Nova Scotia land of laws and taxes!

I actually DO have the "trail pass" or whatever they want to call it, but it's not on my bike. If it was government mandated i wouldn't have a problem with it. See: NB, QC, CB, ON, MAN, etc... But to go make deals with land owners that don't include all ATV'rs (whom all pay into the OHV fund) and then threaten legal action because you didn't buy a sticker is not cool no matter how you look at it. Not to mention they withold the funds to clubs looking to do trail maintainence because they are not an affiliate club. Again... even though everyone paid into the OHV infastructure fund. Thats where my main beef is. DNR is just doing thier jobs and i have no issues with that.
