Marisa Abela beautifully entered the role, and played Amy Winehouse worthily, as well as Andra Day, who played Billie Holiday. I was waiting for more humor and funny moments, despite the drama of the film, but it turned out what many were waiting for. I was waiting for the film about Amy Winehouse to appear during her lifetime in 2007. It would not have been possible to make a film about her if not for her tragic life story. It is very sad that many famous singers and actors are on drugs and addicted to alcohol... This is probably a pattern.The more creative potential there is, and there is no possibility of self-realization, the more drawn to what "expands" consciousness, and gives a sense of flight. This is not an option, and Amy's life story is an example for those who abuse alcohol and drugs, what this can lead to.

I find it really hard to see Amy in this portrayal. To be fair I've only seen snippets. I'm sure the actress does a really good job but what I've seen doesn't seem to capture the essence of Amy. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see the full movie.

A lot of people upset about Marisa singing acapella for the album Frank. Is that her or is it Amy’s own voice? Marisa looks like she’s lip-syncing so if that’s the case, why the hate? This may have potential. Don’t shoot down the actor for a poorly written script. She was great in Industry.

It is not Amys real vocals. Marissa worked with a few singing coaches and vocal coaches.
