This is the first thing that came to mind when I heard about the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse. I need serious help.🤔

This is one of my favorite WW scenes, ever. The timing was perfect, and watching CJ's crack-up is priceless. "... I was just laughing about this thing... last week, with the DEFICIT..."
Smooth, Claudia Jean. Very smooth.
I love how at 2:00 CJ is like "okay, I'm okay, I can go back" and as soon as she starts to turn around she loses it again
Every second of the four first seasons of this show is evidence of Aaron Sorkin's absolute genius. He's a scriptwriting god.
"It's a key. Francis Scott Key. It's the Francis Scott Key Key." And CJ pissing herself laughing because she didn't have her game face on.
Give it up for that actress playing dear old Marion: "EEEEIIIIIIIIIIM MARION--" -- "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
They got the perfect actress to play Marion Cotesworth-Haye.. The delivery is great. I looked her up and just found out that she's Peter Dinklage's first cousin once removed..that's...neat.

That actor was the mother of one of my good friends and quite a pistol. She recently passed away and will be greatly missed.
I come back here every once in awhile just to laugh...and boy howdy I laugh hard at this....I laugh just like CJ every bloody time right on cue too....and once in awhile I'll grin a quiet smile when I see a lone key lying around.....Cheers All

+The Stuport - I know. It's one of the few times CJ hasn't been one of the smartest people in the room. Now, does the Francis Scott key key come with sheet music for the STAR SPANGLED BANNER ? I love WEST WING. But, I have never seen this episode. And, it almost looks like hazing to me. Anyone ?
I just snort with laughter every time I see this

When Allison Janney snort laughs, we all snort laugh.
Best westwing scene ever.
It's...the Francis Scott Key key...
I love how Will is just the silent straight man.
Marion Cotesworth-Haye seems several hundred years out of time.

This is one of my favourite scenes ever - never fail to cry with laughter when I watch this scene
One of the best scenes of the whole series.
"No, because it's not our job to tell things to Mrs. Marblehay."
Exact same thing happened to me. This visitor to the office had the squeakiest voice imaginable (Think Evan Baxter in God Almighty reading news). I heard it before I saw him. I nearly had a heart attack on the spot trying to hold in the laughter. Or the time with a meeting of 5 people in a conference room. One really nice guy had a false eye. One poor guy at the table with biz speak blurted out "We have to keep our eye on the ball with this one". His realisation face was priceless.

Semi-related story, Peter Faulk had a glass eye. You know, Columbo? Anyway, he lost his eye very young, so he had the glass eye in high school, where he played baseball. He was in a game, slid into 3rd, and he KNEW he was safe, by a pretty good margin, but the umpire called him out. He popped his glass eye out, right there on the field and said "Try this." That's top level trolling, right there.
This is my favorite West Wing episode.
Who could down-vote this work of ART?
Just been listening to the West Wing Weekly on this, with an interview with the actress. Just fabulous.
God, I love this - makes me cry with laughter every time
‘Thank you. And thank you’ ‘Thank you’ ‘Thank you’
Only Love for CJ
'I did, I did put olives in his jacket - but this is on the level' 0:38 Love it!

Allison Janney's delivery is perfect here. West Wing zaniness at its best. CJ takes it as well as she dishes it out when she and Charlie go head to head, too!

The funny thing is there's a greater than 50/50 chance the olives gag was inspired by Joshua Malina (Will Bailey) putting olives in somebody's jacket.
RIP Helen Slayton-Hughes
"I was thinking of this thing from-this thing that just happened with the deficit!" Smooth, Ms. Cregg.
AHM MAHRIAHN COATESWARTH-HAYEH!! XDD
it's REAL!
The Francis Scott ..bahahahhahaah!
Will's first few weeks in the White House were so sad. "You do realize I'm working on the inaugural address, right?" "How's that coming along?" "THERE'S BICYCLES AND GOATS IN MY OFFICE!"

"The Francis Scott Key key" bridge? 2024. The key to a distribution network in North America?
I like to think they told her to say her name as loudly and obnoxiously as possible and didn't tell Allison Janney she was going to do it
This is the greatest TV moment ever I love it so much
"Helena Hooter Tooter of Braintree"
2:31 20 years after this episode aired, I’m still wondering where Will got that shiny brass skeleton key from 😂
CJ’s reaction is me every time somebody talks about Downton Abbey
LoL 🤣🤣🤣
I love this scene! I love the idea of that snobby woman travelling to DC to boycott the reception. Brilliant.
The deficit is so bad, her coat is now worth the same as hay.
Dead
Just seen her in True Blood!
The irony here is, "Marion Cotesworth-Haye" isn't a particularly funny name. Marblehead is a funny name for a town, and the old bat had a hilarious voice, but her name wasn't that amusing.

Right! If she added " ... from Marblehead" that would have made it funny.
C.J.'s laugh is the sexiest I've ever heard. I'd pay big money just to kiss her.
