A&R people used to be in charge of finding the right songwriters for the words and producers for the material and label bosses respected them for it and often they made us music that we were told to listen too! Now artists are given the free reign to do what they want and A&R people are told by the new class of label heads to respect the artists creativity and let them go along with what they think the fans will listen too because of trends.
