Tbh I didn’t expect to like Birdo as much as I did, but maybe that’s just because I haven’t seen her actually do things in like a decade, she ROCKS it this game

@@aedaniammx7559Yup, she’s a confirmed girl in the Mario universe. The Birdo in Doki Doki Panic was actually a boy, but the Birdo in Mario isn’t. I don’t understand why people have a problem with a dino being a girl, it’s not like they don’t have enough male characters of all different kinds around.

Hearing Bowser Jr. Say actually words and not just laughs and grunts is crazy and I love it

This is the first time ever that Bowser Jr. has ever been able to spit fire like his dad. Like, he can spit fireballs, but THIS 1:09 is his dad’s fire.

Daisy takes losses a lot better than I thought she would Also a really easy-to-miss detail at 14:33 as you can see Yoshi flutter jump to get up to the ball, it's a small but neat detail

Peach losing animation kinda shows how she managed to handle anger compared to Strikers charged where she would throw balls to her teammates

Boom Boom as goalkeeper had so much personality. Look how expressive they are.

I love how adorable Shy Guy is in all his animations, then his loss one is just existential dread. He's just out here for a good time.

I might be the only one to say this, but Toads and Yoshi's animations are by far the most adorable! I just wanna hug 'em.....

the one thing missing from the game . . . well besides some characters of the roster from past games that many would love to see come back (hammer bro, petey, koopa, dry bones, maybe throw in the super team for nostalgia and a secret champion match, ect), characters having specific abilities tied to them, each character having their own logo & theme song, the ability to do the special strikes whenever, kritter no longer being a goalie is kinda sad, no challenge mode, some cheats to play around with would be nice for offline play, and some other things. but mostly the crotch chop. just my opinion.

Can we quickly talk about how waluigi retained those god-like vine abilities from the last game?

When Peach scores a goal, She performs her gymnastic moves on the court like a cartwheel, a handstanding tumble and a reverse body flip as she says “Let’s go!”, “Yeah!”, “Ya-hoo!” then she giggles then closes her eyes and says “Lovely!” Peach also says “Woohoo!” and spins around with her eyes closed and says “Yeah!” while her eyes open then she says “Lovely!”

Birdo’s Hyperstrike is amazing! She spits out a crystal egg and kicks it, which is talent ✨⭐️

I like how at 9:51 wario just socks Luigi like it's nothing and had him doing the Harlem shake 😂😂

Is it just me or does it feel like Luigi is one of, if not the only character who still actually looks pissed in some of his animations?

Shy Guys are so cute! They’re my absolute favorites next to Yoshis and I always play as them, usually light blue, in Mario Kart 8. There’s not many games they’re playable in so when I do find one all I want to do is play as them!! But they’re definitely not as underrated as they used to be, they show up more often in games and I often see them in profile pics. Paper Mario Color Splash, one of my favorite games, is literally all about them! So I’m happy they’re getting more attention and were brought back in Yoshi’s Island in the first place, so they could continue having a place in Mario’s world! They’re not only adorable but have interesting origins with Super Mario Bros. 2, a really fun game that would’ve never even happened if the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2 hadn’t just been a ridiculously frustrating version of the original.

Only Daisy and Waluigi demonstrated excellent soccer ball technique/control/style/talent/skill. Everyone else kicks/hits the soccer ball very hard. Bowser does a dodgeball throw, DK does a volleyball spike, and Pauline does the lacrosse swing with the mic stand. No wonder Daisy was omitted from the original game roster…that level of animation needed more time to render by the developer for a DLC update…still no excuse to release an unfinished game for full price.

The fact that they didn't add Petey to this game is a cardinal sin.
