Most fans agree Haney is the better boxer. Mario has sparred Haney and has the IQ/experience to tell that Haney's better. You don't need to have "played" with an athlete to eyeball talent/skill.

His last fight he had a dominant performance over Ugás (who didn’t look good at all), before that he fought jovanie Santiago who was a tune up. He loss to Thurman 2 years ago and loss to gervonta 3 years ago. Thats his resumé. The ugas and Santiago fights could be looked at as tune ups… But even if I were to give him the benefit of the doubt, he himself agreed to fight boots and then decided not to take the fight. So either way he ducked.

This is the problem with boxing now. Everybody comes up with excuses for fighters not fighting the best. Barrios has the interim WBC, boots has the IBF and is the mandatory for the WBC. Barrios agrees to fight boots then changes his mind. But he’s willing to fight a 140 lb Devin Haney. Makes no sense. This is exactly why we can’t see the best fighting the best. Nobody holds these guys accountable
