I loved how you had a premature confrontation with the main antagonist which pretty much resulted in her death, only to have her life essence preserved by her minion. Just so awesome.

It even *feels* like you're fighting the final boss early gameplay-wise. Cackletta's a massive jump in difficulty from the rest of the game up to that point, and the huge amount of EXP she gives upon defeat is only matched by endgame bosses.

It was also supposed to be Fawful’s battle theme, but they messed it up and had it play Popple’s theme. Of course, they fixed it for the Japanese version. Typical… 😒

I love how luigi smashes fawful into the ground and just says "oh yeah". Like, dude, you could have killed him

Cackletta is my favorite villain in the mario and luigi series lol I love her music is a remix of fawful music

What I like about this is it's so unexpected, like at first I thought I would be fighting Fawful again but at a more difficult stage, and Cackletta escapes as Fawful holds us off, but turns out you're fighting her, the main antagonist, right here instead of thinking you'd only fight her when you got to the final boss. Fighting the main antagonist in the middle of the game instead of in the final part of the game? Brilliant.

I like how Cackletta starts the fight with her strongest attack and then starts pulling out her tricks like cloning and turning those clones into bats

One of the few courageous moments he had in the game lol

I shed tears and bow my head to one of the best boss battles ever. The setup is perfect, the music is perfect, the villain is perfect! The funny part, the scary part, the hard part, the frustrating part, everything in this battle is just epic!

Nope, the soundtrack is a combination of cackletta and fawful theme so originally it was going to be a theme of both but in the american version there was an error and they ended up putting the theme of popple in the fawful fight

I hate that Cackletta doesn't do the N64-era Bowser roar in the remake.

There’s something so cool about how you get to beat the main antagonist of this game less than halfway through. Only to have her minion Fawful resurrect her

It's strange hearing how good the bass on these songs is with actual headphones, as opposed to the tiny speaker on the GBA

I hated it when Cackletta used her clones alot. I lost a lot of refreshing herbs because of her clones.

I, in some form of miracle somehow won the battle without taking damage

Not even two seconds the game's shakes from how unhinged and chaotic for what you'd mistake a finale. And I love it.

0:40 I love how proud Luigi is of himself for doing that

I know she’s been gone for over 13 years at this point but I’ve always said to myself that if we ever got an animated adaptation of the Mario & Luigi series, I would have loved to see Eartha Kitt portray Cackletta. Implement some of her experience with Yzma from the Emperor’s New Groove or Queen Vexus from My Life as a Teenage Robot into the role, if you will.

When cackletta clone herself, u can tell which one is the real one by looking at the three shadows, look carefully and hit the shadow thats different from the others two, one may be smaller or bigger than the others two.(I could be wrong)

+TailsPrower In a way Antasma has alot of resemblance to Cackletta, his body shape is very familiar, as pointed out the two of them can become a swarm of bats, bats whom can set a status effect on the Bros. (Cackletta poison and Antasma Sleep) Alongside this, both of them can clone themselves, Cackletta uses it to buy time whilst Antasma clone himself to attack, but still very similar. I do wonder if it is intentional or not.

Really great that you actually beat Cackletta halfway through the game, and along with the disaster with Birdo's voice that makes Cackletta and Fawful panic, there's an impression given that sometimes things go right for the good guys. And yet there's still that sense of fighting overwhelming odds when Fawful unites Cackletta with Mario's classical antagonist of Bowser and for the final boss you have to fight the soul of the boss you killed half a game earlier

Cacklette is definitely the best Mario villain.

bryan benitez Cackletta is a woman, and also,while popular, Dark Bowser has nothing on the insanely overpraised Fawful and Dimentio. Cackletta will always be favorite Mario villain and the best to me though.

This battle was absolute hell for me as a kid. I could not beat her for my life, I tried maybe 50 times to beat it, never did. Mostly because I would intentionally kill off Mario first because... well honestly I don't know. I just remember intentionally killing him. And I never used special attacks. Yeah, I was not a bright child...

I love how Cackletta actually ambushes you instead of starting the fight normally.

14 years...... wow

This was my favorite boss fight in the game. (Not counting popple fights.)

Currently playing this on my Nintendo switch this was my game in High school it was a pain in the neck and the bosses were insanely difficult at some points really good rpg for a Mario game as they come

That hole in the floor left by the Beanstar is shaped like a frog's head.

the fact that you could know which was the real one by looking the size of the holes.

The start of this fight is crazy because she always get the offensive and the attack looks like you should dodging lighting, you start mashing, fall in a hole you ignored because lightning, then you get the heavy debuff making other attacks hard to dodge too, and in her Soul Fight she also goes first unless you've specced in speed, and you start that fight at 1 HP, has to be one of my fav boss in video games

i hate how im always under the recommended level in the mario and luigi games. Every attack from cackletta almost one shots me. :(

Why is the fact that from super star saga to partners in time to inside story to dream team kinda scary? when i was little, i cried because it was scary! (especially cackletta and fawful)

there is a way to know who is the real one watch the holes carfully when she make her clones and attack the one in the diffrent hole

everytime cackletta clones herself, make sure find the real one with her (Lifts both arms up_.

Tolstar's laugh is probably used here to be a chuckle instead of her usual cackle, perhaps to give her a bit of cockiness or to keep her normal laugh from becoming repetitive.
