Came back with 44 this year. Wow. Even today 44 is ridiculous. Back then it was absurd.

4.56 min of this HL shows why Marino is the best passer ever. The release vs oncoming blitz.

Marino not winning a Superbowl was Shula's fault. He did not address defensive issues.

I love how moderate was the celebration after a TD. Nowadays they celebrating more for a First and 10. Oh and 0 dislikes for a 10 years old upload. It tells something.. Marino is a Legend!

Dolphins also lacked a good running game. however, there were new receivers every year almost. No balance ever !

Please stop with that myth. Elway played with far less talent in his first 12 years, and for that matter his overall career. He still went to 3 Super Bowls with no offensive talent, a terrible offensive mind, a coach who couldn't coach a QB worth a damn, and a good, but not great, defense that fell apart in the playoffs. Check profootballfocus.com and you'll see Elway had far less talent through out his career than Marino. Through their first 10 years Elway had one offensive linemen or receiver go to the Pro Bowl. Keith Bishop in 1986. Marino's went a combined 30 times. Hell, Marino's offense was built around him. Unlike Elway he had a great offensive line his whole career, great receivers, and a Hall Of Fame coach who let him do what he want (probably a big mistake in hindsight). He was drafted by a team that was in the Super Bowl the year before and couldn't get them over the top. And the reason Miami never had a running game is cause Marino had to throw the ball 40-plus times a game with that ego of his. He needed to be the reason they won. Ask Jimmy Johnson, who BTW has 2 SB rings. Great QB but no Elway. And I hate Brady but what great talent does he have? He makes a bunch of nobodies look good (or Belichick does). Julian Edelman? Chris Hogan? Deion Branch. C'mon man. Enough with the Marino fanboy excuses. And he was the biggest whiner and screamer in football. I'm sure his receivers loved being shown up on every incomplete pass. Egomaniac.

Shula never changed the offense, it was a designed running offense, Marino was just good enough to pass out of it. Miami couldn't consistently gain yards on the ground. Look at the game stats, whenever Miami ran the ball well, they ran it all day. Both Johnson & Shula admitted that it was their fault Marino never won a super bowl. Marino made his o-line look good by being able to get rid of the ball quicker than any QB ever, and by being able to move in the pocket more effectively than any QB ever. Remember that part of an offensive lines job is to run block, which Miami's line couldn't do on a consistent basis, Denver's could. Marino may have had better receivers at certain times, but Elway had better defenses & a better running game. Clayton & Duper were great, but Duper wasn't the same receiver after 1986. After Clayton & Duper left, Irving Fryar was the only top notch receiver Marino had. Elway had the three Amigos early on & Rod Smith & McCaffrey later on. He also had Shannon Sharp far longer than Marino had Keith Jackson.

Marino was better than Elway. Give Marino Terrell davis in his prime and Marino could win super bowls throwing left handed.

I was just going to make the same point, and the answer is nobody, not nowadays and not anyone ever. That's the quickest release I ever saw. Every other QB in the history of the sport would've either been sacked, have the pass blocked, or thrown it away. Even Aaron Rodgers wouldn't have released the football on time. And I think him and Marino are the best ever at throwing the football.

At least Webb was an All-Pro left tackle. An unforgivable draft pick was Eric Kumerow over Thurman Thomas in 1988. Thomas' skills would have fit the pass-happy Miami offense AND taken the main weapon away from those early '90s Bills.

Marino had the same problem Dan Fouts had: a crappy defense. If your quarterback throws six touchdowns in a single game, and your team still manages to lose, it's time to fire your defensive coordinator. Can you imagine if Buddy Ryan had held that position instead of Chuck Studley? Forget about the Giants winning the Super Bowl that season.

Yeah, which is a knock on the QB. You can't say the QB is blameless when you only score 14 points and don't win. 14 points is not a good total. For that matter, the Chargers scored 14+ points in 9 of their regular season games in 2000 with Ryan Leaf. Clearly, it was the defense's fault they didn't win 9 games.
