Before anyone wants to speak their mind on why everything we say here is wrong or right please realize one thing from this entire video. It is opinionated, personal experience, and isolated to their current situation in Japan. Your experience as a Marine or Sailor in any other base when compared could be VASTLY different. As rules change, or maybe a brand new barracks is built this could change your quality of life as a junior service member.

I'm an air force veteran. If I had to choose between navy or marines, I would choose navy. The travel and less strict compared to the marines. I was a loadmaster, so I got to travel to many countries in my enlistment. That being said, marines and navy, you guys are important, and no branch is better than the other. That being said, the military is one big team, and we all have our part. Thanks for the video, guys. I love your content.

  • @toasttea32

I respect the differences in all of the branches, though I don't know them all. However, I do want a more disciplined life and to be surrounded by people who also want that. From my perspective and from the videos I've seen when comparing to other branches, I believe the Marines do a focus on discipline more than the other branches mainly because of how strict they are about their rules and regulations. Would y'all agree with that statement?

  • @marcmeinzer8859

Everyone has a better quality of life than the navy. That’s why smart high school kids who want to go to sea should apply to maritime academy to become merchant marine officers. The seven American maritime academies are: King’s Point [federal]; Maine Maritime Academy; Massachusetts Maritime Academy; SUNY Maritime College, Bronx, New York; Michigan Maritime Academy, Traverse City, MI; Texas A&M Maritime, Galveston, TX; California Maritime Academy on the Sacramento River north of San Francisco. And if no steamship companies are hiring when you graduate your merchant marine officer’s license will usually qualify you for a direct commission in either the navy or the Coast Guard.
