SWITS Feral well the Army multi cam looks better, at least to me. Maybe I’m a little biased but still. Anyway, MARPAT is pretty cool looking. Does well in dark woodland areas. Multi cam is more of a woodland/prairie/grassland type of camouflage.

My cousin was a pilot in the Air Force. He stated it was pretty easy. He didn't really like it when people would thank him for his service. He went over seas a few times, but said he was never in much danger. He was always 20,000 feet in the air, so he didn't have a lot to worry about up there. He said it was the Marines and the Army that faced most of the danger. Air Force and Navy didn't have a lot to worry about. Those are his words, not mine. This video kind of lines up with what he said.

It's all in what you do. Air Force has many Airmen in harms way (PJs, CCTs, Recon, TACPs, EOD, Security Forces, Engineers, etc) on the ground and outside the wire putting in work. Navy has SEALs, EOD, Corpsmen (assigned to USMC), SeaBees as well. The AF/Navy's "infantry" is their Fighters, Bombers, AC-130 gunships, Destroyers, etc. The main differences is culture. If we were fighting conventional militaries with an arsenal, air and naval combat would be much more dangerous.

@@sethq1478 so our job is to bring the infantry to the ground using the navy's ship and support them with transportation and cover. Marsoc is really tough, like those dudes are mentally hardcore to the nail. Practice running 3 miles, in less than 18 minutes, do 20 or more pull ups, and do an easy 100 crunches, so your unit can send you there. However the people in my unit that tried fail marsoc, even if they are the fittest cause weren't selected due to having a non team personality. Also you cant try out marsoc till your about to finish your first enlistment. I suggest looking up recon, if your up to the challenge, then if you made that, then you can probably be good for marsoc. Since you can be recon on your first enlistment. Lastly, recon is the hardest school after bootcamp from what I've heard so try to prepare as much as you can.

Consider the Coast Guard. I have been in for 14 years. We deploy to many vacation destinations, and we make a serious different at home. However, we do deploy all over the world. But usually people are happy to see us. Also, we usually have a great work life balance unless your on a ship, which is still a great situation compared to the many other deployments as your port calls tend to be central America, and the Caribbean.

Pvt. Pineapple The Army has a lot of cruel and stupid people without a moral compass or filter on them. It’s the most popular branch of the military, but also the most unorganized. If you compare a 20-year-old soldier with a 20-year-old Airman and put them side-by-side, the soldier looks all beat up and has pimples all over him and the airmen is all clean and smooth. As for their personalities, soldiers will usually be very dumb or very loud and uncouth, whereas the Airmen will be soft-spoken and polite.

Can confirm: Never did morning PT in the Air Force after basic training. Never was afforded time to do it either. 12 hour days, 6 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. Though, I can say that 99% of the Air Force isn't into the combat missions and still doesn't ever do morning PT. I think a lot of my friends in regular jobs wound up doing PT in the afternoon as part of their duty day.

I joined the Marines, and this video is pretty spot on. I would say Army has the longest deployments in combat zones. My deployment was about 8 months long in Afghanistan, which was long for the USMC (usually we deploy 6 months and come home), but Army soldiers I worked with have been there for almost a year and a half. Shit sucks!

Sounds like old joke: How to Tell the Difference Between the Branches of the US Armed Forces! If you give the command "SECURE THE BUILDING", here is what the different services would do: The NAVY would turn out the lights and lock the doors. The ARMY would surround the building with defensive fortifications, tanks and concertina wire. The MARINE CORPS would assault the building, using overlapping fields of fire from all appropriate points on the perimeter. The AIR FORCE would take out a three-year lease with an option to buy the building.

Coming from the Marine Infantry side of the house, the operations tempo is really high. We do a lot of training in an Infantry Battalion. I honestly found it more relaxing during a deployment than the work up for a deployment. It was hard for some to organize personal affairs at the same time staying abreast with training evolutions. Then again, I’m not a combat vet and never been to a combat zone. Great video btw!

I agree, for the most part. Let's say someone joins the military, never goes into combat (so he has no PTSD), but then once retiring, he kills his family and goes out on a murder spree after that? Or what if the former serviceman is a racist, sexist, wifebeater that beats his kids as well and does nothing but be a douche to everyone and sit on his ass all day... 😂😂😂 Extremely hypothetical situations, I know, but to say EVERYONE who has served immediately deserves respect is a bit of a stretch. Sure possibly putting your life in danger for all of us to live freely is highly respectable, but that doesn't mean you're free of judgment and that from now on, your actions have no impact on your respect since you've served. I think the majority of military are good people, but I'm 100 percent sure there's a itty-bitty, small minority in every military that are pricks lol.

Hope your sons don't regret their choices. The grass may not be completely green in the Air Force but it definitely appears to be less brown. There have definitely been times where I wish I had have listened and joined the Air Force instead of the Army. My first time questioning my decision to join Army came when I was in AIT. We had joint training with the other branches, and when we were done with classes, we had to stand in formation and wait until our company sergeants came to get us to march us back to the company barracks. The sergeants came when THEY were ready and at times we would have to wait well over an hour. We had trainees assigned as platoon guides but they were not allowed to march us. Meanwhile we saw how the Air Force trainees were allowed to be marched by their platoon guides *IMMEDIATELY* when they were done with classes and they did not have to wait for their sergeants like us Army trainees did. Then imagine my shock when I realized how unmarried Army enlisted are not allowed to move out the barracks until they reach E6 (some cases E5), while unmarried Air Force enlisted are allowed to move out dorms at E4 (some cases even E3). And there are also times I wish I had have listened and joined Air Force while I'm stuck in a hot motorpool all day emptying and repacking the same connexes that we just did yesterday (I've had Air Force people tell me that they indeed do layout inventories.......but only a few times a year compared to so many soldiers who do several motorpool connex layouts several times a month or even several times a week). Same for when I'm stuck in the field without a shower for three weeks at a time while defecating in porter potties that are filled with feces and aren't cleaned for long periods of time and I'm trying to starve myself in the field to see if I could defecate less often so I won't have to use those filthy porter potties. Even with PT, where we have to do the exact same "PRT" exercises in the exact same order every duty day makes me with I had have joined Air Force where I would probably be doing group PT less often and be working out on my own more (I had an Air Force E6 tell me he'd been in Air Force for ten years and hasn't done organized group PT in eight years. I absolutely love to work out but I despise Army's "PRT")

As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, let me give you one piece of advice. Find out somebody who knows CURRENT information. You would be surprised at how many well-meaning people give advice that is out of date & obsolete. Also be careful of a few other things: branches of service vary differently based on the job that you're doing. Security forces in the Air Force can be very different from Army military police. Also some people are giving you advice based on what part of the world they were stationed at. Somebody who spent their entire career in Europe, is going to give you a different perspective than someone who was stationed in East Asia most of their career. Just some food for thought.

Wes Takahashi I agree, so for a domestic terrorist, white separatist or just someone who wants to fight internal tyranny, 11b with RASP contract would be best. Assuming fucking command doesn’t gank your contract. I would stay away from USMC anything because you spend more time with cleaning than with a rifle. Yeah I will clean my issued arms, uniform and myself but don’t want to spend all day sweeping the floor and all those fuck fuck games.

  • @dave0351

    @dave0351

    2 жыл бұрын

@@finaldestination2473 Thank you for your question. At the phase of life I was in at the time, yes absolutely I would choose USMC again. I was a testosterone fueled 18-year-old who was a little wild and needed a structured environment, and the Marines was a good fit. Looking back I would have chosen a different MOS, though. I wanted to be a tough guy so I chose infantry, and I learned that being "tough" kind of sucks a lot of the time. If I had it to do over again I would have chosen an MOS that taught me skills I could directly apply after military service. That's not to say there weren't some badass things we did, but there is a life after military service, and setting yourself up for later is smart planning. Now, as an old grey dog, I have different priorities and desires, and today's version of me would not choose the Marines. I have a beautiful wife and value stability over adventure, and coming home each day to spend time with family is priority. Being in the field or away from home for extended periods of time isn't appealing now as it was back then. I'm much more mellow now and the oo-rah "embrace the suck" mentality is fun from time to time, but no longer as a way of life. I hope my little answer provided any insight you were looking for.

Let me pick one small bone here. In the Navy ( at least the 8yrs I served) if you are attached to a ship, you'll deploy every 2 yrs like clock work. Deployments are only 6 to 9 months, but when you add pre deployment work ups, it translates to a lot of time a way. This tempo is regardless of any active conflicts. I'd say, that's a pretty high tempo, and one only beat by those in special operations.

Can't wait to crank up that lawnmower can you? I seriously do not understand why so many people find peacetime infantry so appealing. If we were actually at war and you were actually deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan (less likely nowadays) and actually shooting or getting shot at or trying to watch out from being blown up by a roadside bomb, then infantry might seem appealing. During peacetime, which is what we are in now, infantry (like so much of. The army/marines of various mos,) sit out in the woods for weeks without bathing (which really doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering that for well over a generation our wars have been in the desert. We haven't had jungle combat since Vietnam. So why do we spend so much field training in a forest jungle environment doesn't make sense) once in a while. The rest of the time, from what I've seen and have been told by 11bravos, lower enlisted infantry get pt'ed to death, then spend so much of the rest of their time seeping out the motor pool and even also mowing lawns simply because there is nothing else for them to do and leadership had to keep them busy. Iower enlisted infantry are also treated as close to being in basic training as possible. They get treated more like children compared to so many other mos. Why this is so appealing to so many people defies logic. You can't possibly think you're actually going to be shooting anyone on a daily basis. What's the point of selecting a mos that you'll most likely never get to actually do and at most only train for it once in a while and even then you're training has so little to do with the real thing (training to move silently through the jungle when our wars are actually in the desert). And even then you'll have less options for a combat deployment since Afghanistan now is apparently gone? I can see doing peacetime infantry as an officers but fuck doing peacetime infantry as lower enlisted after researching all of this. But you're probably still thinking in your mind you're actually going to be shooting people in combat and actually kicking in doors and blowing stuff up like in call of duty video games.

Nevermind that infantry has no equivalent to the real world meaning you're wasting your time for yourself and have no foundation to support a family unless you go to college after the militwry

The army really has one god awful soldier for every quality soldier. For every private that wants to do well and advance themselves there's a shitbag who makes life harder for everyone around them. For every NCO that treats berating and harassing the lower enlisted as their true MOS, you got someone who truly cares and wants to show why they're proud to be in the army. It is what it is.

@@ctown6592 Each has their ups and downs. Each has their specified mission. They are both the best at what they do. If you want to see more combat and front line fighting, that's the Army. If you want to spearhead strategic targets, that's the Marines. Either branch can interchange but that's their purpose in a nutshell. During garrison.. it's the same shit and can be dumb as fuck. Whoever claims which one is better or not is completely irrelevant and is based on bias. End of the day it's literally the same thing, with a different name and mission. Research the branch, your likes and dislikes, opportunities, and compare and join the one you like the most. I joined the Army for ABN, and career opportunities. We all have our reasons. If you want to know about the Army or Marines.. OP and I can tell you. If you have questions in particular. It's better to talk to vets, even better if it's the ones like us who did both. Recruiters just sell you koolaid. We will give you the down and dirty.

@smartcookie you just cant walk into the Navy and be a seal day 1 lol. Its physically demanding, and mentally and have to have a high aptitude of intelligence. That's any SO or SF. To answer your question: The Army sees the most. You wont see much in any branch right now. The war is over and any deployment really is just peacekeeping.

To add some information to the Sea Duty and Shore duty section for the Navy, every rate (job/mos) has a SEA/SHORE rotation that depends on which rate you pick. For example I'm a Master-at-Arms (Military Police) so my rotation is 3 years on SHORE and then 3 years on SEA.

@@JohnOfJohns Tempo is the speed or pace of a given piece. In classical music, tempo is typically indicated with an instruction at the start of a piece (often using conventional Italian terms) and is usually measured in beats per minute (or bpm). In modern classical compositions, a "metronome mark" in beats per minute may supplement or replace the normal tempo marking, while in modern genres like electronic dance music, tempo will typically simply be stated in bpm.
