Marines Fire on Suspected Car Bomb, Uncovering Innocent Family
In this week's Urban Valor episode, we're joined by Marine veteran Christopher Cendana. Hailing from Fremont, CA, Chris's journey into the military was inspired by his best friend and the uncertainty he faced after high school. He enlisted in the Marine Corps, specializing as a Diesel Mechanic. Chris shares his experiences from two deployments to Iraq, including a tragic incident where he was compelled to engage with an Iraqi family, resulting in heartbreaking consequences.
Following his military service, Chris found his calling with Six Feet Above, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting and supporting veterans and service members dealing with mental health challenges through the therapeutic medium of skateboarding.

Chris, I'm deeply grateful for you and to ❤
Much love from Oakland, Chris. Appreciate you brother.
Dude looks like a pro skater
I'm from NC and Jacksonville sucks! USMC sent me to Pendleton and luckly my platoon was flooded with guys from Cali so I went home with alot of'em so I saw all of California from LBC, Bay, Compton, L.A., Sacramento, Monterey, to Bakersville. Still got ❤ for Cali!
Related to some of the stuff he said at the end, both about memories trickling as more time passes, and living in it moment (also in a hurry to get out but should’ve enjoyed it more). Appreciate the video
Recruiter stories ! Everybody's got one ! He's right about somebody getting recycled ! I remember a Black kid became sick, a short time before we graduated. And after graduation, I was going to grab my Seabag, and without meaning to, I just happened to look up into the Barracks, and there was this kid looking so forlorn, waving at me ! And I felt really bad for him knowing he was going to have to stay, on top of watching his ex platoon scattering to the winds ! Never knew if he made it, or if he got sent home ? And strangely hadn't thought of it for some 46 years ago, until listening to this guy ! MCRD SAN DIEGO. PLT.3021 1977 SEMPER FI

i knew it😂 we all join for that one job we want and get the one we “didn’t think of”
Chris, Thanks for sharing brother. I am glad you are in a much better place with your life. I thought about your Michigan experience, yeap, unfortunately, we are going to meet certain personalities throughout our lives. I believe it is better to have a smaller group of friends. I am glad you made it home from the war. Your switch, when off work, you jetted. I think you did the right thing. You should not be 24/7 on base. That is not completely healthy..I had a wonderful girlfriend & spend my free time with her. If I didn't have to stay on base, I was in town. You hit an important chord. You said, "It is important to have a plan, even a simple one." I am a firm believer in two important ideas: Have a plan with realistic & reachable goals and to always keep it organized. After reading David Bach's book, The Automatic Millionaire, the light bulb 💡 went on. Stay focused and healthy, brother.

Where at in Michigan? Was it Camp Grayling? Because I feeel him! I moved to MI in highschool and he's spot on lol
It baffles me how you join up and all you hear about is brotherhood and comradere and when you get rhere, everyones immediately treating you like shit. Then, when it hits the fan, the guys who've been putting down on you are like "now go protect me"
Semper Fi, also from local Bay area.

I can’t even watch this video! There is an add every 3 minutes ! I can’t even listen to the interview without getting interrupted by endless mid roll adds!
Holy shit it's Gooch 😂
Why would someone not stop when people are firing at them?

Idk but only thing I can think of is fear where someone just looses all sense.
