Honestly his most impressive moment to me was in game one when he took a Munoz 98 mph 2 Seam fastball 4 inches off the plate and belted it for a single. Dude is unreal.

I know there’s a website or some entity out there on the web that measures home runs and can tell you how legit these wall scrapers are. I haven’t looked it up but I’d be willing to bet both of Soto’s HRs today don’t get out in over half the ballparks in MLB. Yankee Stadium is a launch pad

Thats probably not going to happen. Hal Steinbrenner said yesterday that their current payroll is not sustainable for them. Sounds like they will probably be cutting payroll next year.

Soto is the league MVP. No doubt about it. The Yanks would be absolutely lost without him this year. He's not only the Yanks' MVP on the field, but off it too. He's brought an entirely different energetic attitude to the clubhouse. If Cash lets him get away to the Mets or Dodgers, he'll have to change his name and move out of the country.

We weren't gonna win them all and as I said yesterday with the 2 wins the previous 2 games the goal of a 2-2 split had already been reached. It would be nice to pick up a bonus win tomorrow as the Rangers continue to struggle and drop games to the Phillies, but even if we lose I've been fine with this road trip so far.

The difference between the two teams in this game rests on each teams' #2 hitter; Soto - he of the .313 avg/.978 OPS - hits 2 HR's and 3 RBI's while Rodriguez - he of the .263/.629 split - goes 0-4 with 3 K's. M's hitters in general hit .194 for the game with 11 more K's and went 1-5 RISP. Rodriguez has been virtually invisible on this roadtrip against likely playoff opponents & at this point, IMO, needs to be given a day or 3 off and/or moved around in the batting order. Polanco needs to be released - I'm done with this latest Mariner 2B failure. Go M's!

Really frustrating loss. This pitcher was average at best today. And we couldn't manage a single run on him. Also that double steal baffles me. I went into this series hoping for a series win but knowing I'd be satisfied with a split. But this really shined an even brighter light on our offensive ineptitude. Especially watching guys like soto and judge.

Might be a lil biased because I’m a Yankees fan but Cortez didn’t pitch “average” today. Good strike outs, good ground outs. Only 5 innings but that’s what relief pitchers are for. I’m sure the coaches, fans, players are satisfied with the way he pitched.
