All i know this Video has made me show my children why it's not wise to be part of the Military, and with the next generations and more parents like I, we might be lucky and have no one that wants to kill innocent lives without a Trial by its fellow citizens. If you were talking about an airstrike or firefight, that may (emphasis on "may") be possible. The margin for error with a STA team is remarkably small. "These meatheads can't count to 10" They'll curb stomp you in a graduate level physics program before you can finish writing your name on the application.

@sgwatchdog you do realize that camera crews aren't brought to the combat zones, gun or helmet cameras usually are the norm, right? second, there usually is positive identification, hence the spotter. third, that was the only position that didn't require a trek through enemy territory

@2eucee What court convicted these ppl, and if listen too the statement from the video that was days before. Also how do we not know they had their Private Property Posted for No Trespassing and may get shot if you cross this Property. Do they then have a Right to protect what is rightfully theirs under the Law. If a Criminal comes in your house or Property with the intent to do harm in the USA do I as the Owner have the Right to shoot or shoot back at this type of person in Defense!

@AlexSDU taliban snipers, there isnt alot of them but when they do poke around there's not always a ton of cover. taliban snipers are also known to have their hands in IED bombings, which can injure multiple people at once. but no, not every taliban sniper kills three marines, most probably don't kill any at all.

(so make that biology AND physics) unless you're an extremely expert scientist or doctor, the burden of proof is on you to prove that you know more than they do. If you still don't understand those four words and how they're related to military sniping, you have a lot to learn. Not saying that I know a lot, but I don't pretend to know something and then disrespect people on that basis.

He has a scope. Most likely a telescopic one. And I'm sure he properly identified his target BEFORE taking the shot. Otherwise, we'd hear on the news that a Marine shot a civilian. They probably also have to go identify the body for proof too. The video is obviously edited for time, if not it would have been a couple hours long and a lot of back and forth over a radio. It's not like he said there he is! Bang! I got em'!

@AlexSDU In my opinion, it is worth it. 1 taliban out of the picture means the lives of civilians, marines, sailors, soldiers, and airmen are rescued. Also 1 less brain on the table of planning out an attack, and 1 less threat to the United States.

Am trying hard to justify how this video showed the "proper" way to conduct sniper operations. Some concerns below. 1. was there positive identification of the target? 2. how was a camera crew allowed to follow a sniper team, especially on an actual operation 3. there did not seem to be proper employment of cover and concealment I suppose most parts of this video was a re-enactment
