I have never bellowed so abruptly or intensely when she sang "always the optimist, dealing with somebody elses' can of worms." I wasn't expecting that. I was never expecting an actual song to speak the words I wish I could so elegantly. Marina is criminally underrated.

It's so true. I went through a break up 4 months ago. The lyrics doesn't hit so hard because it was a healthy relationship and my ex is a good guy but we're just too different and all that we had in common was our love for eachother. But that's not enough for a relationship to work. It works for a period of time but not in the long run.

The whole entire album is such a masterpiece. The singles are the bops and the rest of the album are powerful ballads that complement each other. MARINA never disappointed and is so glad for me to know that she wrote the whole album. I think this is her best record since Froot. Thank you MARINA

This album has only been out for a few minutes and I think I already have a favorite song

this song is like Happy’s sister it’s so beautiful

I don’t understand why some fans claim “Electra heart” era wasn’t about Marina and it was just character she played. The songs were about her life at that time of “someone not loving her back” Marina has always written about love and heartbreak.

I feel she sang what my heart feels. He opened Pandora’s box, he cheated. And for that girl is just another day. He doesn’t know what he’s unlocked. He made me feel psycho, I did lose my mind. Didn’t know he could be so unkind. He damaged what we had. Cheating ex boyfriend= listen to this song. It sings the words that are in my skull. Like an idiot I also still do hope that hope is not lost.

The first sentence already hit home hard. This song reminds me of my relationship with my ex that mentally and physically abused me. I was left with PTSD and 2 years after the break up I'm finally getting professional help, but I'm nowhere near better yet..

The Family Jewels, second verse, I think.

This was definately the sleeper hit of the album. Out of all of them, I think this one has most of my listens even over the singles.

marina really stepped into her own on this album. She found the pulse and kept her fingers on it through and through.

I love how your music makes me feel like we’re in a movie.

Me like a person who has very struggles in life bc my my mind and feelings, this songs fits so well even with my youngness and inexperince with life, world and people, then because that half of relatableness I can see that my future will step to step fit even more w this song. It seems risky, but it's how it has to go on. The truth is that I am proud of relate of this song because I feel that song is like vitorious and virtuous. Painfull but beautiful and hopefull.

This song is about Lana, it was written before she broke up with Jack and around the time she stopped posting about her. "But for her its just another day" is about a (female) friend that doesn't care that their friendship was damaged, if the song was about Jack that line would imply he cheated on her which isnt referenced anywhere else in the album (Flowers and ILYBILMM talk about his distance and how he never really appreciated her or showed affection, but no cheating), also it wouldnt really make sense for her to stay with him after he cheated (altho I know it happens). Therefore I think this song is about s friendship she lost, specially the Pandora's Box meaning she is saying things she didnt mean to because of the things this other person is saying, so I think she and her friend got into a fight and said things they now regret, except her friend didnt care and has moved on. Thats why I think it might be a Lana song. Theres many songd about Jack in this album, but this one here I dont think it is.

at first i didnt think much of this album. i usually dislike artists’ new albums but this proved me wrong; i love the tracks on this one! this song is my favorite, each and every lyric is so beautiful and i can relate to it in my own interpretation; specifically at “always the optimist, dealing with somebody else’s can of worms”. also, i tend to connect random things together, and the vocals in 0:58 2:00 3:00 whenever she says “stacked against the odds” are so wonderful they make me think like im floating in a sky full of stars.
