Using a bullet proof vest reduces the risk of dying from a gunshot wound, but hollow point rounds, or shots to the face, below the torso, etc. could still end your life pretty quickly . Here's a better question to ask: How many people would you have sex with knowing that they had full blown AIDS? Even the makers of condoms point out that they have a failure rate, but that isn't even what the CDC is talking about. They're pointing out that some viruses are way too small for a condom to be effective in the first place. If a woman gets pregnant it can be a hassle getting an abortion. If you get AIDS it's a bit more than just a hassle and it ain't going away anytime soon either. Regardless, those who still want to have sex and take the risks associated with it, more power to you. There are a whole lot of people who made that same gamble and lost and the world is better off without them...

When I was growing up my parents spoke with me about sex. They talked about the ramifications, the effect on relationships, the unintended consequences (like bad reputations), especially contraception. They talked openly and frankly and answered any and all questions without being afraid or bashing it's existence. They also added EVERY TIME that the best way to avoid all of this is to abstain until I was old enough and wise enough not to have to ask these questions. Guess what, I was probably one of the last virgins in high school because my parents equipped me with the TRUTH and knowledge I needed to handle the peer pressure of teen sex. Oh, and God and the bible was NEVER mentioned during any of these talks.

To be fair, they were initially developed only to prevent pregnancy. It was only later that design was improved to also provide protection against STIs. But even as a new product, a nice side benefit was that they prevented a number of STIs, so yeah, that woman was just being a typical mouthpiece for some conservative/religious agenda.

I think Marilyn Manson was trying to support the point Bill Maher makes that if the woman tells young adults condoms are useless at protecting against Sti’s it could cause people to just see condoms as useless all together and say what’s the point. Also condoms do help minimise the risk of transmitting diseases but even with protection things like herpes and syphilis can still be caught through contact with pubic hair

I think the point is that anyone's lyrics can be open to any kind of interpretation - that's the point of art. Artistic freedom and individual interpretation. Don't judge his character and intentions based on his lyrics because we can all definitely do the same with yours. Musical lyrics don't define the person who writes them. A lost soul will find whatever they want to find in whatever they're listening to. The "problem" lies in the listener and their history, not the artist.

Yeah, because, historically, telling a teenage not to have sex works almost EVERY time... :/ Ludicrous. Telling children to flat our repress and ignore one of the strongest inherent instincts they have is WRONG. And doing it at a time when those instincts are at their absolute strongest.... Is it any wonder that abstinence only states, like Texas, have the highest rates of teen pregnancy? Texas actually has THE highest rate of REPEAT teen pregnancy.

Genital Herpes cannot be stopped by a condom, since the skin to skin contact occurs in places not covered by a condom. however, there is no excuse for discouraging the use of condoms.

Some good songs but not as an album. I think Mechanical animals is like that too. Not every song is good.
