I've been pulled over as a non-white guy and told the cop "I am permitted to carry and I have my firearm on me at my 6 oclock". He replied "oh, I just pulled you over because I didn't see your front plate but I see now it's on your dash. Have a nice day". Dude let me go instantly after I told him I was armed and licensed to carry. And I live in Cali. You'd be surprised what a breath of fresh air does to them. You will never win a challenge with a cop on the street. Ever.

If you are selling food or drink LA County requires a Health Department permit. As an example, marijuana sales are legal via State law, but that is not a mandate for cities. Cities can establish their own ordinances regulating dispensaries (the number of dispensaries, distance from schools/churches, hours etc.) within their city limits or may outlaw them all together (according to the State 62% of cities and counties outlaw retail cannabis businesses). There are exceptions called preemption, but that has not occurred surround marijuana/CBD legislation as of yet. Preemption at the state level surrounding street vending is what caused the chaos on the pier. The City had to scramble to enact ordinances to get it under control.

People often ask why Santa Monica has all these issues when compared to other nearby cities like Manhattan Beach, Brentwood, Malibu, and Beverly Hills. The reason for it is that there is not enough community support. The minute police try to do their jobs you have people getting involved trying to make it look like they are harassing someone. We need our community members to step up and say enough is enough and support the local police so that we can clean up our city from this nonsense. As a Latino male, I'm all for diversity equity and inclusion but you need to do it the right way. Being ignorant is not an excuse to break the law especially when you can't keep your mouth shut and be respectful towards the officers. Great job to Task force!

Money and inherited hunting rifles from the 80s from our deceased dad. He was facing 30-life. He got a drug trafficking charge. Never been in trouble with the law. He’s not in the big house. And trains dogs there. 7 years. For weed. All states do not treat marijuana or vapes equally. Many kids were facing years for vape cartridges. It was the overwhelming majority of cases

Because I was in gov. appts when pigs came to my door and asked if I used and I told the truth in 5 minutes they had 20 there flipping the place. I ended up getting kicked out on the streets where I still am 5 years later. Halfway through a 10 year probation where they tried to give me 6 months. Banishment from the county, the only place my family had some land I could've stayed on. And a 4k fine. Within a year of this happening,my backward ass state, GA, made it legal for me to get a medical card for intractable pain. Which is still worthless because we don't have any store's. I've even had to change pain Dr's 3 times in as many years because after about a year each one says it's not good for passing urine tests if I can't produce a state made product. It's such 🐂💩. If they would just treat the plant like tomatoes or any other it would be worthless and no big deal. Right on page 1 of Genesis it says God gave us these herb's. Why can't we use them?

Dealing with ignorant people must be pretty frustrating, there are laws in United States there are laws in different counties and to my understanding if you have a business you need to display your business license so the public can see it , every vendor should have proper identifications, as a seller of a product you are responsible to do your own research and get the proper identification to sell in every county plain and simple, stop wasting officers time and resources , stay safe humans

@@roberamo15 It’s perfectly legal if you have a permit or license which this guy doesn’t have none. Thus he will be fined, go to court hearing, and it will be on his record. It’s not that hard to understand this process 🤷‍♂️

Homeboy knows all the laws that the police with regards to what the police are supposed to do but he didn't know that he needed a vendors permit to sell

Commendable police work. Didn't buy into the temptation of an angry suspect arguing against laws you enforce on a daily and you did your job . Yeah he was talking shit but he didn't swing or spit. He did however impede your investigation which could be a charge right? Either way you dealt with it how you wanted to deal with it since the law is at your discretion to implement. I don't know that much about the laws but I would believe that if a dude is committing a crime and he fails to present a license/permit and his id then you would have cause to arrest him if he fails to provide a name too. Patient and charging him with the crime he did. Good stuff dude, making all cops look really good. It's also making my argument of protecting cops and their families better everyday. 🚬

@@shortshorts920 when cops get treated really good, the bad cops are weeded out faster. There's also the guilt and the perspective of it if you are a bad cop. People would say "wow dude, you had a good paying job and you ruined it. Why? " So I know that not everyone is a good cop, the good benefits would be an incentive for cops to feel compelled to do their job even more in the face of extortion and revenge.

5 officers spending so much time on something like this?..give Jason a break,go after real dealers🙂✌

If I was selling small boxes of caramel sauce covered vegetables without a Santa Monica permit I would be in violation. They go after everyone that they observe selling anything without a permit.

Maybe we watched a different video he didn't come off as drunk at all...he's selling CBD and the state laws makes it legal. A city law can't trump a state law... marijuana is still FEDERALLY ILLEGAL. but it's legal in the state of California BY STATE LAW....

@@terryt2728 t shirts are not mentioned in the California law regulating the sale of CBD though, so they don't fall under the same laws. The cop read out loud a list of things not requiring permits...one was CBD. 🤷‍♂️ I didn't write the laws

@@adelanshawn You need a permit to sell ANYTHING in that town. Towns are allowed to charge for permits. The "not needing a license" means a license like you need to sale THC products not a sales permit.

Those people who the cell phone taping the police officer probably there comfortable with crime and felt in their neighborhoods I hope the judge takes the officer side that guy behavior is Criminal and shame of those parents who allow in the children to witness that

Permits are municipal laws not state laws and they are required in all cities. Sadly, “Regardless, failing to obtain or renew a business license ( permits ) can be a costly mistake, resulting in significant penalties, such as fines, lawsuits and in extreme cases, even arrest.”
