What's so awesome has to be the camaraderie actors develop after working on a film, sometimes this happens and sometimes not. But what's awesome usually comes from moments like these when actors get the chance to poke fun at themselves and their work from something fairly recent and are able to play with that stuff in moments like these. I mean, Meryl had a great sense of what was going on just by watching and listening and didn't hesitate to get into character once the camera was on her. Cuz clearly while they were having a bit of fun onstage, Meryl came to the table to make that moment of fun last even longer and mined the comedy gold for the moment. Awesome

she's a person not a thing lol. And it's easy to call her a hot thing when she's an A-list actress in a tailored dress and glammed up for an award show. I'm sure Emily knows she looks hot during those circumstances - as does pretty much every actor there who knows their looks played a large part in why they're in that room that day. I'd say it's less about someone thinking she's a hot thing which impresses Emily, and probably more about someone knowing her all her flaws and seeing her on a bad day without and makeup but still thinking she's beautiful...thats probably what impresses her the most. tl;dr - all celebs are hot, its the lowest form of recognition to recognise an actor for being hot. they probably feel like Vivian Leigh and wish theyd get recognition for qualities besides their looks

Marie Antoinette costumes are exquisite and just unbeliavable. Look how they look light like clouds when acresses move. Look at the nuances of colours and the brightness of their silk. For the record, Milena Canonero is the veteran costume designer who won four Oscars in 1976, 1982, 2007 and 2015. She's now married to Marshall Bell since April 1980. She's also associated with Hanes Hosiery which seen on both print and television ads since 1990. But that's my healthy opinion.

There's an old saying was: "You can win 'em all!" But it went to Dame Helen Mirren in "The Queen" at Paramount/Lionsgate. This was her first Academy Award and her first win in 2007.
She deserved it the award. The gowns in the film Marie Antoinette were nothing less than breathtaking. Fourteen years later and that film continues to have some of my all-time favourite costume design.
Milena Canonero ...I'm gonna remember that name. The way she talks, her gratefulness to those who helped her along the way, and her innocently childlike nervousness is really genuine.
Meryl is so powerful. She sits in a place bends her head smiles and just switches her expression to a stoic one. The hall erupts.
Came here just for Meryl's face hahahaha. She's awesome!
This year's Oscar nominees were really hard to choose, since I love all those costumes. Marie Antoinette was so beautiful and delicate while keeping Historical Accuracy as possible, and Curse of the Golden Flower was also fabulous and unspeakable, and of course Devil wears Prada really shows modern fashion and luxuriousness.
@francescafrattini5969

Marie Antoinette costumes are exquisite and just unbeliavable. Look how they look light like clouds when acresses move. Look at the nuances of colours and the brightness of their silk. Milena Canonero has an unrivalled knowledge of costumes and she shoes each time deep historical research. If Stanley Kubrik chose her for Barry Lyndon was for a reason. Full stop
I absolutely love this presentation. they should always do the costume design (and other technical awards) like this, with depth and style. plus Meryl!

As an Italian, I was very glad Milena Canonero won her 3rd Oscar (a deserved victory for Marie Antoinette), but for me the best costume design of 2006 remains The Devil Wears Prada (and with Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt presenting the award I hoped that the film could at least win that Oscar).
@moniquelacosta5170
6 жыл бұрын
I wish I could see behind the scenes with her explaining how she comes up with a concept for a design. I hope a book is published about her designs just as a book shows the history of Edith Head's Designs.
I'm only here for Emily and Anne, these women are freaking awesome!
I need to see the 3 of them together in a movie again.
