Marie-Antoinette: A Censored Love Deciphered
Ойын-сауық
Paris, 1791. Marie Antoinette is held captive in the Tuileries. She begins a correspondence with Axel de Fersen, a young count she met nearly twenty years earlier at a ball. Their exchanges are cordial, political...and censored. Were they lovers? Were they plotting a royal rescue? The rumors are endless, but no one can say for sure. Until now. This fascinating documentary follows the team of chemists, cryptographers and historians who through amazing new scientific techniques and hours of careful study have finally managed to fully decipher the letters between the dethroned queen and the dashing count. What they discover is the love story we already know ends in doom, but that is still full of hope, passion and breathtaking romance.

magnifique et émouvant reportage. merci à ces formidables ingénieurs de l'écriture, et félicitations à Mme Lever qui est une excellente historienne.
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Marie-Antoinette. The minute her carriage crossed over the border to France, she was stripped of all her clothing and her little dog was taken away from her. The French people hated her from that moment on. I hope she is in Heaven united with her Swedish Nobleman. Peace and Light to their Spirits. ❤️🇫🇷❤️

The French people initially loved her, but as time went on she became the scapegoat for all their troubles. She was far from perfect but she did a lot of good to some, but she was Austrian and therefore she was an enemy.
I didn’t see 100% of Marie Antoinette’s betrayal here.. Yes, there are love letters, but again Fersen confesses his love, and although she reciprocates his love, she writes "My dear delicate friend" (but was it still treason?). As a result, it turns out that neither the King had mistresses, nor the Queen had lovers. Eventually, this Royal couple was the most faithful couple to each other, besides, she did not abandon Louis 16 in 1789 when she could have left and saved herself, she remained with the king until the very end. Added. Yes, at 3:38 minutes she confesses her love, but was it hot love? That's the question. That is, I mean did she actually cheat on the King or are these just declarations of love only in correspondence. I would like to note that Marie-Аntoinette confessed her “love” even to her best friends, so now she’s a lesbian or what ?

@@dolleserge1135 She was asked to leave Paris in 1789 when most of the aristocracy of Versailles, including the brothers Louis 16 and the daughters of Louis 15, left Paris. (This was July 14, 1789). In addition, she was offered a divorce in 1791. Lafayette suggested.

Sempre al top! Ottima l'idea dei sottotitoli!
Very interesting. Felt the love of the two, with a twist of sadness.
I’m a sucker to History! Wow 🤩 is it indeed a love story?! 🇸🇪 ❤️ 🇫🇷 Xx
This was incredible.
How sad It would have been better If they were just 2 peasants in love

@@helenefrench4275 Thank you so much, Helene. I love history and I love to read. I especially like learning about interesting women in history. Zweig's book gives a lot of quotes from letters Marie and her mother, Maria Theresa, wrote to each other. What's chilling is that Maria Theresa sensed Marie Antoinette's demise. Mother's intuition. Chilling. Marie and Louis XVI should have never been subjected to the "national razor".

I m the same, I do like History and reading. I recommend you by Antonia Fraser: Marie Antoinette The Journey and Love and Louis XVI. Have you ever heard of Francoise Chandernagor and Jean Des Cars ? ( their books may be translated in English I am not sure). From Evelyn Farr ( The Untold Story : Marie Antoinette & Count Fersen) is excellent too :) The book The Last Queen of France by the historian Evelyn Lever has been translated in English

This is tabloid press level. Both her and husband tried to solve massive economic issues but the Rentier class aristocrats were unwilling to transform.
quelle beauté qu était Marie Antoinette ❤
Vive la Reine ⚜️👑
😢que triste todo lo que vivieron. Hoy sabemos que se amaron hasta el final.
She calls him friend over and over .. which means she didnt cheat on the king . ' nor him her . ~❤
Bellissima la ricostruzione del loro amore tramite le lettere con codici, ma non poteva essere, lei era una regina . Fersen sbaglio' a Varennes, pure fersen fece una morte tragica come pa principessa savoie carignan lamballe penthievre.
I am simply going to ask who cares? The king had love affairs, no one questions it. If that was what they had as a marriage, why are we questioning it. For that matter why is it being questioned about her and not him? Really? Seriously? 🤦🏻♀️
