Yeah, that was a very nice play. It would have been hard to decide if Mariano was weak or trapping when he checked the turn.

The 2nd nut flush hand. Where Raymond represents the Ace of Diamonds. Commentator says, i like this RE raise after the river, from Mariano. Yes, i agree in certain battles, however in this game.. These 2 are left in the Standup game. Its POOR play from Mariano. Its always a FLAT call, Always... If he wins after calling the 2.5k, fine with a Q high flush(King on the board). If he does have the Ace, NICE HAND move on. Pay the Stand up. But to give your opponent another bullet to reraise, was poor. Very poor from Mariano. He looses his reraise, looses the stand up, from a call all day. The reraise pays the standup if he lost. Yes, most definitely poor play.

I disagree. A spot like this so rarely gets bet, 3b on the river as a bluff. It's such a rare bluff that you can pretty easily raise fold for value. I think Raymond identified a genius spot where it was unlikely that Mariano had A high heart bc that would bet the turn, especially for the aggressive player he is, that does not trap enough.

@@TheNow_Now you are not taking the stand up into consideration. I agree with you if it wasn't the stand up. The flat call is the play. If he has the ace, fine, pay him, pay the stand up, you got beat with a solid hand. You only lost 2.5k plus the stand up. But if your queen is good, you won a small but nice pot, dont pay the stand up. Its about choosing your battles.

The point is a river 3bet bluff without Ace of heart is so rare that it’s negligible in live execution. When was the last time you saw a bluff like this? So justifiably Mariano was just trying to make the most +ev river decision, standup game or not, and chose to thin value raise. In fact because it was a standup game opponent could have reluctantly called with a J or T of heart. Don’t be result oriented and give yourself false feedbacks in hand reviews. #1 killer for your own winrate

Mariano folding the 2nd nuts to a reraise..lol..he blocked the straightflush, so he was loosing to an A high flush..big mistake. 2nd hand he folded again to a reraise..yes, he is a fking luckbox otherwise he cannot win, as he is not even close to be a good poker player.

Actually Mariano had a really good bluff catcher hand. He blocked straight flush, Raymond did not bet in preflop, and with A (2,6,8,9,10,j,q,k, A) he would bet for sure, also as mariano only called he had less A in his range too... so I think here call would be reasonable. But yes, normally value raise here did not make much sense, that was a mistake in a party where 6 players was involved and 4 hearts on the board and the best hand to call your raise was a J of heart.
